mayassa Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 Quote the ups drivers around here are like ninjas when they are outside of their trucks. as soon as the doorbell rings the truck is already halfway down the street. My driver is the same way we waive once and awhile Quote

Most of my packages are left on the door step or inside my screen door. Quote

Super User Bassn Blvd Posted December 14, 2007 Super User Posted December 14, 2007 I tip when I get good service not because it's the norm. Does anyone tip the fireman, hospital staff, police officers who have to work on Christmas or the teachers? I go to subway for a sub and there's a tip jar. I go for a scoop of ice cream and theres a tip jar while the owner pulls up in a 80k mercedes wearing 10lb's of jewelry. Seems like the business world relies on the consumers to pay the salaries of the employees by tips so the employees don't have to pay more. I don't know why I'm so grumpy tonight. I must be sleepy. Kimbro Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 I never thought of tipping the UPS guy, but then again I never see him/her. When eating out I tip by the level of service. I always tip at least 15-20%. If the service is great I'll usually give a 25-30% tip and sometimes up to 50%. As law enforcement (military) we aren't allowed to receive tips, but a simple thank you goes a long long way. It gets tiring getting treated like crap from the same people you are trying to protect. Nobody likes policemen until they need one. Happy Holidays Kimbrough Quote
