Super User roadwarrior Posted December 10, 2007 Super User Posted December 10, 2007 I don't recall a year when there were so many great teams and so many awful squads. Unless they play each other, The Boys, Colts, Pats and Packers dominate. (Seattle plays in "their own" conference and the AFC West has taken the year off). So, after years of mediocracy, this year it seems "The Battle Of The Haves And Have-Nots". Except for regional alegence, does anyone think Seattle or Tampa Bay are really in the hunt for the championship? San Diego, Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay? It looks to me like the hands are dealt and it all comes down to the best team on a given day during the play-offs. That said, none of the top dogs are a lock to win it all, but they are all VERY capable. Quote
Super User Tin Posted December 10, 2007 Super User Posted December 10, 2007 The only year where there could be an undefeated and winless team. But I still think if the Pats are going to loose and Miami will win a game it will be Dec. 23rd when the two teams meet @ Gillette. Us up here in New England have gotten used to heart break and it is almost expected at times. :'( Quote

llPa1nll Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 But we have had so long a stretch of losing Patriots have gone 1-15 before, We all know how long it took the Red Sox to win, The Bruins havent won since I was born, Celtics havent won since the 80s. There is parity what you are looking at are coaches who see talent and know how to acquire it. The Raiders should be shot for letting Moss go to the Patriots for 1 4th round draft pick. Lets not forget that Tom Brady was a 6th round draft pick, in theory that means every team passed on him 5 times. Quote
Super User Tin Posted December 10, 2007 Super User Posted December 10, 2007 Not whining, just still cant trust them, once you do, they break your heart. I wasnt around for Bucky Dent or Buckner, but Aaron Boone and last years playoff loss in Indy broke mine. Last year, against Indy, Pats get the ball, time for that big final minute drive for the win that Brady is good for, first past, complete 17 yards. So we are all going, O YA! Their gonna do it again! Then, interception. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted December 10, 2007 Author Super User Posted December 10, 2007 Guess what? We all feel that way on the wrong side of a win. Can you imagine, some of us were even Rockies fans! Quote

Hrmmm I couldnt imagine that... Oh wait yeah I did, remember the 85/86 year the Patriots got killed in the SB by the Bears and the Red Sox died in the WS against the Mets Quote
Super User Tin Posted December 10, 2007 Super User Posted December 10, 2007 It is not if they loose or not, it is how. Quote
Cajun1977 Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 you spoiled cry babies ;Dtry being a saints fan for 30 years and then tell me about expecting disapointment and heartache. :'(weve been snatching defeat from the jaws of victory for many years Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted December 10, 2007 Super User Posted December 10, 2007 RW, I have more fear playing the 500 teams than the good ones. The good ones bring it, and the so so teams, you never know who will show up. Seattle is veteran team, that struggled early in the season. Shawn has had nagging injuries. Since Shawn shared time at RB, they now have two headed running back. Hasselback is veteran, coach is veteran, and Seattle looks like they are starting to play ball consistently. Always a few better teams and then parity, where teams hug 500 mark. Quote
