Ravens are up by a TD with 10 min left.....could be an upset!

No disrespect to the NE fans, but I hope that Baltimore does pull it off. They have a better chance than any team so far and what a morale booster it would be.

Great game.  I listened to it on the radio.  So, I didn't see it, but I heard something that I've never heard before...a player picking up the official's flag and throwing it!!!  That's crazy! :o  His wallet will be a little lighter.

As a hardcore New England Patriot fan, Im gonna need oxygen if the rest of the season is gonna be like this. Wow was that a close game.

....

Wow, another crazy game. Amazing though, if they beat the Steelers next week they go undefeated in the Regular season. Tom Brady, greatest QB under pressure EVER! Wasn't big on Rodney Harrison talking smack to Brian Bellick though, found it very disrespectful, laughed when Bellick just kissed at him though.

The Ravens had so many opportunities to close the door tonight but they just couldnt do it. Penalties, a stupid timeout (thats gonna haunt them for a while)...and the dude throwing the ref's flag into the stands was killin' me. If he had not been restrained, I think he would've body slammed that ref.

But looking back now, the ref should've body slammed him for throwing his flag into the stands.

History shows that teams that went deep with un-defeated seasons got beat by average teams.

I never realized that.    6-5 teams on average are what beat the all the undefeated teams in the past.   I know we always look for winning teams on the schedule to see when they have a chance to lose is.

Being a Colts fan, I can't say the Ravens or the Patriots are on my alternate favorite list but I was sure was pulling for the Ravens.  They played a great game until they had 8min left in the 4th.  They played, as usual, with too much emotion and not enough head smarts and in the end, handed the game over to the Patriots.  They had a rought night with the refs., just as most do when they play the Pats.  I got to see an alternate view of Moss's TD catch (it should air on NFL replay).  There was a reason no one was around him, he pushed and then pulled the defender, go figure. He has been doing this his whole career and getting away with it.  So why call it now? :'(

Hehehe...

Just like a Colts fan to complain about the Refs in a Patriot's win. Especially after the outcome of the game you guys had against the Jaguars and the over turned calls that you guys got. On the Moss TD, seemed to me the DB went for the all too common fade in the far endzone corner and Moss broke it into the inside and he was open. Anyway it was a close game. I give the Ravens team all the credit they deserve for putting up a tight close battle it was very impressive. I just cant understand they can play like that and have a losing record.

The only time I will complain about the Colts and the refs is the 04' Championship Game against the Pats.  It was a joke.  I can recall Marvin Harrison being taken to the sidelines to get the tacky finger removed his jersey and flushed from his eyes by the backjudge.  I could go on and on about this game since I have it recorded to my computer and I-pod just in case I need to remind the nonbelievers.

But with that said the Colts do get their fair share of calls so I can't complain anymore than that.  Like say, the shielding/pass interference call last year against the Pat's that resulted in the TD in the AFC Championship game.  :)

The last half of that game reminded me on last years playoff game with the Pats and Chargers. The Pats didnt win that game, the Chargers lost it on stupidity, just like the Raven last night. Then just like LT and the rest of the Chargers did, in the postgame interviews the Ravens blamed it on the refs and how the NFL wants New England to win, and blah blah blah. NO, your team just let their emotions get the best of them and blew the game on stupid penalties! Yes I can see some of the issues, like Gaffney"s "reception" but either way, if it wasnt complete, the Pats still would have had 2 or 3 more chances to get the ball in the endzone. Who knows....

Hats off to the ravens for sure. Except for the unlike sportsman conduct in the end. For Sure they gave the Pats the best fight this year.  The last 2 games have not been so great for the Pats, As a fan I hate to see this downward play.

Do I think they will go undefeated this year....no.

If the steelers have there A game on, It will be a tough game.

That game was over on fourth down when the Ravens stopped them, and the Timeout from the Sidelines showed up and cancelled the play.

no time out, game over on downs.    Consider the win lucky.   No timeout, no first down, ball goes over on down to the Ravens game over after two successful snaps.

I couldnt agree with you more. They were lucky to come out with a win. They just seem to find a way to win games.

I've noticed this a lot in football games:

"If we hadn't run out of time, and scored more points, WE would have won!"

Patriots "find a way to win".

This is your response from another thread about a team being lucky. "Thats what Elite Teams can do"....

...so let's leave luck out of it, things are going the Patriots way, thats just how it is. Now LSU on the other hand is LUCKY that the BCS (Big Crock of Sh**) computers had them in the title game with 2 losses. I bet they feel lucky to be in it.  ;)

The Pats were lucky that the sidelines called a time out when that play had failed on fourth down. In essence, they got a do over.   It had nothing to do with what the Pats did, it was based on what the ohter team did.

What else do you call it? A planned time out? Okay, a lucky do over!!!! I don't call any college that has a big time recruiting program lucky when they have consistently been winning for years.

Some plays have luck, some have skill, so, to take the luck out of the equation, how about looking to the school history or results in the past 5 years.

Does that college have a habit of winning 9-10 games every season, then I say luck is an investment that pays dividends sometimes.

Just like New England.    Luck is taken out of the equation because of preperation and prior success.

What NE did was not created by any Patriots or coaches.    The luck came from Baltimores misfortune.    The only thing the Pats did was take advantage of the second chance they were given, what all good teams do.

I would say LSU got lucky that 2 teams lost, one being a huge upset to get them into the National Title game...did they go out and beat those teams to get in, no the other teams missed their opportunity which opened the door for LSU.

Speaking of players letting emotions get the better of them......  ::)

LT didn't blame the refs for anything. He blamed Belichick for allowing his players to mock Shawne Merriman and the Chargers fans.

On that aspect Pond Hopper,   Your are very correct.   LSU did benefit from someone elses luck.

LSU is lucky as hell!!!!      Scott needs to hear that!!!
