llPa1nll Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 Well I heard on the radio that the Boston Red SOx are in the lead with trade talks with Minnesota Twins to get their ACE Johan Santana. The deal as the report stated is as follows. Red Sox would get Johan Santana. Twins would get Coco Crisp, Jon Lester, and minor league prospects Jed Lowrie and Justin Masterson. Now I know that this deal still has to go through and then they have to get Santana to agree to resign a contract extension. Which again from what I hear is rumored to be as much as 6yrs $150 mil. If it does go through oh my head does that make the Red Sox starting rotation EASILY the sickest in all of MLB. Just think of this for a starting rotation; Josh Beckett, Johan Santana, Curt Schilling, Daisuke Matsuzaka, Tim Wakefield that is a solid rotation also we still have Julian Tavarez that was our number 5, we could go to a 6 man rotation or have him go into the bull pen for a solid long relief pitcher. With that deal we still keep a young stud Clay Buchholz, who pitched a No No last year in his first game up. Dont forget that you have Hideki Okajima setting up Jonathan Papelbon. Things are only looking up for the Red Sox... Quote

Super User Dan: Posted November 29, 2007 Super User Posted November 29, 2007 Yeah, but I'm just talking about pure defensive talent, which he DEFINITELY has. I really appreciate great outfielders. Do the Twins still have Torii Hunter? That would be a good outfield... Quote
Jake. Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 Do the Twins still have Torii Hunter? That would be a good outfield... I believe he signed a five year deal with the Angels. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted November 29, 2007 Super User Posted November 29, 2007 I had heard about that maybe happening but I never followed up to see if it did. Thanks. Quote
