I have heard good stuff about it. I see car shows on tv pluging it all the time. I would like to hear from people that arnt being paid to say its good. I was told by a few guys at school I should run it in my durning the winter becasue of the turbo. I know there are a few car guys on here. So I need you thoughts on it.

I've never used it in a car, but I ruined a Kohler engine on a John Deere tractor by draining the regular oil and refilling with synthetic (changed filter, too).   I have no idea why, and I haven't touched synthetic since.

There are so many choices...Redline, Lucas, Mobil, Castrol, Royal Purple.....

Personally, I have used Royal Purple, Mobil, and Castrol. For my specific car, I run conventional oil. The supercharger is oil fed from the sending unit on the side of the block, I don't really drive it enough to justify the $6 per quart. I do however use Royal Purple in the trans and rear end.

I would recommend 5w20 for the turbo 4cyl.....

Matt I was hoping you would chime in on this. I cant blame you for not running synthetics if its not a daily driver. I have heard great things about royal purple. But I never knew lucas made synthetic oil. I checked mobils web site and the say I should use 5w30 for it. But the owners manuel says I can use any were from 5w30 to 10w30 in it.

Right now iam worried about the warranty. But next winter its going good bye. I cant wait intll 2011 to touch that car. I plan on adding a bigger turbo, fuel system, coilovers, bigger sway bars, and a bunch of other things.

Well iam not sure If iam going to redo the engine yet. But I know iam going to do the handling. I will for sure put on a cold air intake, a new ingiton, 3 inch exhaust from the turbo down. I will also get a high flow cat. Then I will need a bigger intercooler.

Thanks guys. I need a oil change within a few 100 miles. So I think iam going to try to talk the dealership to use a synthetic.

Use Mobil 1 for at least the past ten years in all vehicles and never had an issue.  As far a warranty it would not affect it. My dealership changes mine. Also with the The Magnuson-Moss I cant see it being a problem.

The fact that it is a daily driver is more reason to be to protect it better with a synthetic. I normally change it about every 5k even though the computer says it has 60% life left. Not sure I would go by that.
