Jake. Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 I got Dennis Dixon off of Oregon winning it. Who ya got? I agree. Especially if Oregon can run the table from here on out. Quote
Nick_Barr Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Dennis Dixon from ORE. this year, NEXT YEAR: Jonathan Stewart from Oregon, he is truly a gifted athlete. Quote
Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted November 7, 2007 Super User Posted November 7, 2007 Todd Reesing Nahhh ... If things continue to go well though he should make a name for himself this year and I don't see why he shouldn't be a preseason consideration for next year though. It's hard to say this year. It seems usually by about this time of year you can just about narrow it down to a couple guys. This year it seems like things are still wide open. Quote

RiskKid. Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Mr McFadden.......I'm looking forward to seeing him Saturday.....BUT Ohhhhh my poor Vols! :'( Quote
mackkie Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Matt Ryan from BC looked like a front runner until his last 2 sub-par games...oh well Quote
Super User MALTESE FALCON Posted November 7, 2007 Super User Posted November 7, 2007 If Mike Hart didn't get hurt he would have been one of the front runners. He had over 1,000 yards after the sixth game. He played a half game Saturday against Michigan State and got 118 yds, but he re-injured the ankle. Now we'll be lucky if he's ready for the Ohio State game. Falcon Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted November 7, 2007 Super User Posted November 7, 2007 I like a player to have the "IT" factor. If Tim Tebow woold have led the Gators back, he would be in my top 3, but Florida has no dog in the fight for me, they lost too many. Dennis Dixon has the "IT" factor. for me, its too early to vote, I need to see the end results, the bowl game performances. In 2005, don't you think Vince Young earned the Heisman in the final perofrmance in the National Championship series? If USC won, I'd say Bush was deserving, but answer me this. Why was the Heisman trophy winner on the sideline for the final play on Offense for USC? The best player in the nation is not on the field!!!!!! Why??? I think those awards should be decided on after the Bowl games have been played. McFadden was given preseason honors and with that, Ark. was given AP Poll top ranking and McFadden didn't keep them there. Lets see how Chase and Pat and others do. I say there is alot more football to decide this thing, its a shame the whole post season play isn't used. Quote
Super User 5bass Posted November 8, 2007 Super User Posted November 8, 2007 Here's my pick. Colt Brennan QB Hawaii (8-0) 2007 stats thru 8 games: 225/328 for 2820 yds....26 TD / 11 INT If his career ended right now: PASS COMPLETIONS: 981 PASS ATTEMPTS: 1402 PASSING YARDS: 12,670 Brennan may be a Heisman long shot because he plays for Hawaii but with numbers like that I think he should at least get mentioned. I know career stats dont matter but just for the 2007 season he'll most likely have over 4,000 yds passing and close to 40 TD's. Not bad. Quote
Super User Catt Posted November 8, 2007 Super User Posted November 8, 2007 The Heisman Trophy is an award to the most outstanding college football player; if this is true then how could you leave out defensive players. To me it's all a joke because the best player rarely gets selected; case in point why was Jerry Rice never selected? Mr. Rice holds 58 NCAA Division 1A receiving records including: 301 receptions for 4,693 yards and 50 touchdowns in 41 games. Answer he played for lowly Mississippi Valley State Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted November 8, 2007 Super User Posted November 8, 2007 Based on the players of the past who didn't start on offense. Who has the stats to get noticed? When Desmond won it, his team was in a battle for the national title, and some of his returns during the year helped break open the games. Got any body in mind? Quote
Super User Hookemdown. Posted November 9, 2007 Super User Posted November 9, 2007 It's too early right now. Dixon looks good, Dorsey is a GREAT defensive player, but D Mac is a beast. If the Hogs can get their act together (win over SC helped) he should bring home the trophy. Quote

Super User 5bass Posted November 24, 2007 Super User Posted November 24, 2007 Update on Colt Brennan. Hawaii is still undefeated after handling Boise St last night. Brennan was 40-53 for 495 yards and 5 TD's. He passed Ty Detmer on the all time TD list and now sits with 126 career TD's. Quote
