Super User Tin Posted November 11, 2007 Super User Posted November 11, 2007 Well I realized today that winter had arrived. My compartments were frozen shut, the motor was tough to get going, there was frost all over my front deck. When I left this morning the temo was 30*, when I pulled out at 2:30 the temp was 38*, lol. And the water is down into the mid to low 40's. There is no warm up in sight and the nights are only going to get colder. So needless to say the ice will be in soon. > Any good new video games out for PS2, PS3, or Nintendo Wii???? ;D Quote
tipptruck1 Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 I just look at fishing gear. Also winter is the time I work a lot on my car. Next winter the srt will come out with over 400 hp and be able to handle a lot better. But theres a lot of good games out there. I really like the tiger woods games. Most people go out and buy a new madden game every year. I go and buy the new tiger woods game. I can spend hours playing that game. I make a golfer of my self and work up the rankings. It takes weeks just to get to pro level. So thats all I do when I cant fish. Quote

Temp was -27 and I drilled through 27" of ice. Set up the hut and never moved and had a limit of BIG bluegills, crappie, and perch. Quote

Super User Tin Posted November 12, 2007 Author Super User Posted November 12, 2007 4 more years! Thats what I keep telling myself, I'll be out of college and living on one of the lakes on the Coosa River chain. Leaning towards Neely Henry in Gadsden, Alabama. Was down there fishing in the FLW Jr. World Championship 2 years ago and fell in love with the place. Even though smallies are more fun than spots, I still loved every second of it. No ice, decent weather, cant wait. Until then its skiing, changing all the hooks on my baits, PS3, movies, and figuring out which tourney's I'll be fishing. Matt 5.slow, I think today was the deciding day, I'm definatley out of Rhode Island soon. Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 Matt 5.slow, I think today was the deciding day, I'm definatley out of Rhode Island soon. WIMP!! Shoot, you mind as well move all the way to Mexico,......Raul is afraid of the cold too,lol....you guys could team up : Don't get me wrong, you'll be putting me up in your guest room once a yr but you'll never get me out of R.I. on a full time basis. NEVER Dirk and I shot down to the special spot in the river yesterday. Snuck through that yard and pulled 2 fish out of the hole. I got the LM, Dirk got the bitty SM. Those were the first 2 casts,lol,...just like when you brought me there. Nothing after that. It was an 8 minute outing, lol. Went across the street to the base of the waterfall and Dirk had another on but lost it in the rip. It wasn't Rudolph but it wasn't small either. Smallies just don't like me I guess, lol. Vinny got a 7.3 from my special spot yesterday too!!!! He was full blown cheating,....shiners. But he's allowed, he's still in the rookie class. And yes, I let him know how lame he was for using live bait, I thought we left him with the skill to do better than that but,....7 lbs in Nov is 7 lbs in November! Quote

Zel Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 Shovel snow almost every morning, because the winds blow the snow from the snowmaking machines at the ski resort on top of the mountain down to my place (and I'm on the other sidegeeez!). > Quote
Super User Raul Posted November 13, 2007 Super User Posted November 13, 2007 What to do when the lakes are frozen? Geeez, I have no idea :-?, never been there so I can 't tell. Not even when I was a kid and lived in Mexico City and fished the pay to fish lakes in Puebla, Estado de M éxico and Hidalgo ( places where you can fish for trout ) I 've seen a lake frozen, usually when I arrived there they have already thawed.
