Hey Fellas: While I will not break the law on this, I want to know how many of you get as angry as I do. I paid for the song when it came out as a 45, then I paid for it again when it came out on an album, then I paid for it again on 8 track, then casset and now CD. How many times am I going to pay for the same song and then they make the medium obsolete, sonn the MP3 will replace CD's and I will be expected to pay for it again. Planned obsolesence is breaking me :-/

Most home stereos still have tape players, at least my does. I don't know how long until they completely stop making tape players.

But the good thing is if you have alot of CDs you can just rip them into MP3s. No need to buy the same song. ;)

Muddy if you own the cd down load it to your puter then put it on your Ipod or burn an mp3. You still own the original.

I do that for private listening. But I am going to join URGE, .88 a dwonload there a lot of New Orleans Funk and some Blues and Jazz I want to burn without buying the whole album again

Muddy, it seems Urge has been bought out by Rhapsody. Be careful with that service, make sure to read what a membership entails. You usually have to buy a monthly subscription just to LISTEN to the songs. If you want to burn them you have to then pay extra to BUY them individually. Also, some of those services only allow you to listen to the music if you have an active subscription, so you will only be able to play the songs as long as you are paying the monthly fee.

ok guys while i know for a fact i will probobly recieve alot of flak for saying this but i will go ahead an say it anyway. i personally dont think of "illegally" downloading as a bad thing.yes its against the law and most consider it stealing but i find it hard to believe that i am a bad person for not giving a man who has millions of dollars and a house the size of my hometown 1 dollar for a song that he released into the public knowing it would happen.i still buy cd's when they are released but more than likely the local walmart doesnt carry it and i dont have to many other options, another thing i find hard tobelieve is that with crimes like rape and murder happening daily that they waste time trying to stop me and most of the country from getting a song. not trying to make it political or whatever just thought id get my opinion out there on the subject

With Satellite radio don't listen to cd's  anymore. Do they still exist?  I do download music from time to time for the ipod but there are plenty of sites to be legal about it.

Be very careful about loading music CDs to your computer.  I know for sure 1 Montgomery Gentry CD has a virus that will attach itself to your computer, and renders your players unusable.  It has a big X on the back of the CD and a warning.  I am sure others have done it as well.  Most are safe, but look at the back cover before popping it into your CD Drive.

Muddy we live in the cyber times you can listen any time through the internet streams:

In New Orleans wwoz was in my House, out in the rehersal space, in the car, here when i get the chance it's home

Satellite radio is good, but the sound quality is absolute garbage.  Most of it is played at no more than 128kbs.

I have Sirius radio on my boat, and it sounds fine to me!  :)

I have Sirius with my small dish package for the TV and route it thru my speakers. Sounds great to me but then again I remember sitting in 4th row aisle seats for an Alice Cooper Concert in front of the left bank of speakers :(...

You can say it is immoral/unethical, but isnt greed? Selling a cd for $17 when it costs $1.50 to produce? And I know two wrongs dont make a right but....

One of the sad facts of life.  The more new toys we pay for the more our older toys will be come obsolete.

I gave up fighting the beast long ago.  I too was one of those that would not download or copy cd/tapes/VHS tapes.  But I got tired of always having to replace this for that and then within a few years go throught the whole process again.

I Download everthing I want to watch/read/listen to now.  I just got tired of waisting my money.  It bad I know but I just refuse to be somebodys ginne pig any longer.
