Bassboy15 Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 AWESOME! I love snow..snow day anybody? : Quote
Guest muddy Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 10 years ago, me and three freinds went snow tubing at a place close to there. We were all over 40 yearsold, all from cities and had never done this before. They are like a really strong inner tube with a handle on each side, you sit your butt in the middle and hold onto the handles and you kind of shift your weight to the left and right to somewhat steer them. Then when you get to the bottom, you grab onto this rope like ski lift thingy and clip your tube to the one in front of you to get back uo. Once on top huge sign, about the size of NEW HAMPSHIRE SAYS: DO NOT GO DOWN TUBE RUN WITH TUBES ATTACHED; Which we read as GO DOWN WITH ALL 4 ATTACHED TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS/ Well immediatley it became evident that you can't go down attached BECAUSE YOU CAN"T STEER!!!!!!The trail went left, but not being able to ster we go over to the right over somekind of embankment( At which point my Friend Pete is saying THIS IS GREAT!!!) onto where the people on skis are. It looked like a scene from a Little Rascals Movie where they take one of there home made cars and go into a ditch full of highway workers and they start popping up one at a time ;D Well the inevitble happened we bumped a guy right off his skis, and he was upset to say the least, but unfortuantley we were laghing too hard. These guys with Lime Vests came and took us to the managers office. He was going nuts, and screaming at us " I expect this freom teenagers, you guys are all over 40" and we were not in the least bit repentant! Thankfully no one was hurt, I still laugh at thismemory first snow every year : Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted November 19, 2007 Super User Posted November 19, 2007 I was on a private lesson three years ago year at Sugar mountain in North Carolina and a snowboarder came out of nowhere and broke my right hip. Have the three pins to show for it. Stupid me I still love it and keep on doing it. Never skied until I was 42 and now next to bass fishing it is the best. Even though I live in Houston we get to ski about 3-4 times a year. Just enough to make me dangerous. Quote
michbass Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 We have gotten a dusting and a couple inches to the north. The u.p. is in for a big storm though. Hopefully the ski hills start blowing snow soon as not being able to fish is making me crave boarding. Quote
