{I know this probably should go in the "everything else" section, but I wanted as many people as possible to see it first}

I know many / most of you guys carry a cell phone on your boats with you. Of course it's fun to call your buddies with the "DUDE ! I just stuck a pig" phone calls...... {really cruel to do this when your buddies at work

But then of course there is the "cell phone as a safety / emergency tool" also.

Alright now, I certainly can't be the only one who slips up and forgets to charge the cell phone, before a fishing trip, once in a while ?

So yesterday, I picked up a little Energizer portable cell phone charger at Home Depot, for $15. It works on two cheap, easily aquired, AA batteries, and comes with two of the high quality types. Not sure yet, how many times two AA's will recharge my cell phone, but even if it was just once, this would be great for emergencies, and AA alkalines have a several year shelf life.

Plus, personally speaking, since both of my cameras use AA's, I always have all kinds of spare AA's (half of them rechargeable) with me.

Small. Light. Relatively cheap. Great for the dry storage in your boat. And BTW, Home Dept had 4 different models to fit all common phone brands.

Hope this helps somebody.

Hey Chris Is there a brand name available for that product, is it Energizer Brand?

I bought one of these on the way back from Kelsey bass ranch when I visited in Cali.  Saved the day.  I bought it thinking it will be GREAT for in my backpack that I take on the UPS truck.  Like FC said, takes 2 AA batts and like him, I have those on me 24/7 because of the camera (which also goes in the backpack everyday)

Worth every penny but remember, it doesn't "charge" your battery, it just provides power.  Also, remove batts when you get to a charger, or they will just burn right out.

Here you go muddy-They come with different connectors, make sure it has the one for your model phone.

These are some great gadgets to have in sitiuations where other chargers won't work.  I will say that in my experience with them though, you need to make sure the batteries are good. When they get low its like my phone is charging the charger.  ;D

I always make it a point to charge my phone up.  It goes on the charger before bed and unplugged from the charger in the morning,  I have a car charger that I don't use hardly at all.  My phone will last around 18 hrs if used alot before needing charged and around 24 to 28 hrs if not being used alot.  I can't see buying one of these for myself I don't think it would ever get used.  But it is a good idea
