Congrats and GREAT SERIES to Cards and their Fans. G man gets his Rapala your choice man!!!!!!!!!

Wainright pitched a classic inning that was magnificent Curve ball on a Fast ball count And a surprise slider, throwin a wet Ball. In honor of the Cards Im going out and buying a Cards cap for the WS Go Cardinals Im rooting for them to do the NL right!!!!!!!!!

My Prediction the Mets win 2 WS in the next 5 years

Cards get a chance to avenge the 68 WS loss to the Mclain driven Tigers Gibson was great in that series

Any way Mets loose to a great tem and now lets go tame those AL Kitties Congrats Kmac,Val,Bassmasta and Gman your team played great I bet you the WS is not 1/2 as exciting as the NCLS ;)

My Predictions:

Cardinals

                  Cardinals

Padres

                                         Cardinals

Dodgers

                  Mets

Mets

                                                            CARDINALS      (6 games)

Twins

                  Twins

A's

                                          Twins

Yankees

                  Yankees

Tigers

This may be very biased but I just think everything is going to click this year. I think and hope we will be looking back in a month and say wow remember when the Cards almost didnt even make the playoffs. I think the Yanks pitching is going to show wear and wont be able to handle the Twins pitching. I dont think the Padres are that good and up until this year the Cards have owned the Padres during the regular season and post season. I dont think the pads are deep enough and i dont think their pitching is that great. I had to change my vote from dodgers to mets for one reason, Carlos Beltran. Two years ago he tore it up in the playoffs I think he will carry the Mets through the division series. I think the Cards will be carried by one player past the Mets, Albert Pujols. I expect him to go crazy during the playoffs and will do like Beltran did 2 years ago. I think that the cards pitching will be good enough to win the World Series against the Twins. I think Santana will be good but none of the other Twins pitchers will be good enough. Cards win in 6 MVP: Albert Pujols.

The Cards will win despite the domination of the AL the last couple years.

Cards have the playoff and World Series experience to go all the way unlike every other NL team and the Tigers. The A's and the Twins dont have any playoff experience past the first round.

*dont forget about the A's pitching they could be a big upset team( they were picked by SI as the World Series champs at the beginning of the year vs. the Cards)

I was perfect in the NL and perfectly wrong in the AL. O well Cards are in the ship and i am sticking with the cards in six prediction.

*except i bet they beat the tigers instead of the twins

Wow what a game.  That was probably the most exciting game I have ever watched.

Cards will have an extremely tough time against the tigers, especially with only 1 days rest.  Lets see what happens.

That was a great game 7.  Wainwright scared me senseless.  He didn't have his best stuff and kept placing the pitches up high in the strike zone.  But then he turned around and pitched Beltran perfectly.  What an exciting ending to a great NLCS series.

I believe some of those high pitches were setting up the breakin balls I only saw 2 mis throws that whole inning On the contrary I dont think that kid will ever toss an ining that good for a while ;)

Pujols better get it going in the world series. How did the cards come back after that catch by Chavez? I think Chavez did better in that series then Floyd would have done. He got to a lot of balls that Floyd would not have gotten to.

Now on MLB.com you can get a free download of the final game in any of the series this playoff to keep on your computer. I am downloading last night's game but even for muddy they have mets game 3 of the division series.

He pitched better in previous games in these playoffs, but of course this game was pressure unlike any he has encountered.  He went to full counts on Valentin and Chavez and gave up hits to both with no outs.  The pitches that were balls were almost all above the strike zone.  Wainwright tends to keep them lower and then when he throws his curve the bottom drops out of it when it crosses the plate.  However, you don't see too many pitchers give up hits to the 7th and 8th hitters in a lineup, with no outs, and then escape from the top of the lineup unscathed.  Wainwright showed some guts for a 25 year old pitching in arguably the most important game of his career so far.  It was one hell of an exciting inning wasn't it?  Too bad for your Mets, Muddy.  They had a great year.

Sorry Bassmasta7 I dint realize it was a joke I had some sour grapes going there Sorry buddy ;)

Anyway Floyd, healthy is as good as Chavez,he has been playing hurt since the allstar break. Just got my Card's cap you guys save me a seat Im Rootin hard for the NL I hope Albert hits .400 with all kinda RBI's it will cement him as the greatest player of this generation they will have to figure out where his plaque is gonna go in Copperstown some day.

Im really pullin for the Cards b/c the next few years I think we are gonna face off a lot and the Mets will win one SOONER OR LATER ::)

What a great 7 game series and the last 2 games were a lesson form both managers on pitching WOW

IMHO the young Mr Wainwright was throwing one nasty curveball........a gutsy performance for sure.

Seems like everyone is already annointing the Tigers the WS champs just like they did with the Yankees not so long ago.......wonder if the Red Birds will have something to say about that? I guess thats why they play the games.

I still think the Tigers in 6 because of that pitching staff.....but they have to keep it up and they could be rusty from the long break........PLAY BALL

It is almost funny how all of the "experts" have already crowned the Tigers. They are the favorites without a doubt, but the Mets and Padres were as well. We may be a long shot, but I think it is fun being the spoiler and the team has responded to it. PLAYBALL!!!!

Bring it on MuddyMan!! 8-) This will be the true test for BOTh teams. A seven game series with both teams starting pitching either quite thin (Mets) or sometimes questionable (Cards). It's gonna be interesting. This is going to be a very exciting offensive series I believe. I think the Mets still have an edge on us, but then again...the Padres were supposed to too...and they are getting out their golf gear. Cards in five may be a little bold of a prediction Bassmasta. The Mets are no chumps. I say this one goes to Game 7 with the Cards pulling it out. It's gonna be fun...LET'S GO CARDINALS!!!!

Boy did I call that or what? ;)

OK I have found one analyst that thinks the cards will win and he is on si.com and i think he put it best "the cards are punting in game one by starting Reyes." I couldnt agree more until he had that amazing outing. Perfect game for the Cards. OOOOOO man only 3 wins away from the first championship in my lifetime.

That was a fantastic start from Reyes for a multitude of reasons.

1) It showed he is capable of pitching in a high pressure environment.

2) It showed he can make proper in game adjustments to his gameplan to start retiring hitters...good hitters. He started out relying on his change up too much which led to Detroit's first run. Then Yadi and Reyes talked it over. Reyes started using his 4 and 2 seam fastballs to work the both corners of the plate then went to his change as his out pitch. It's little adjustments like that that make all the difference.

3) It showed he is capable of going deep into games, which was viewed as a possible problem earlier in the season due to past injuries.

You couldn't have asked for a better game all around from the Cardinals. Great great game.
