Siebert Outdoors Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 weaver vs. wagner. How about that home run contest. LOL Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 If that happens they are going to require the vendors working the bleachers to wear HELMETS Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 Who make the baseballs we might want to buy stock in them. I'm sure after that slug fest every one in the crowd will have a ball. ;D Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 Forget it put your stock in the compaines that make steroids bigger profit margin ;D Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 Forget it put your stock in the compaines that make steroids bigger profit margin ;D That will open a whole new can of worms. I wish if they found someone on steroids they would lose their contract and be permanently removed from the sport and their name would be removed from all record books. Like Bonds, his name should be removed from all the record books. IMO it should be 0 tolerence. Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 AGREEDED Bonds,McGuire,Sousa,Palmero, Canseco all of them and the d#%n Commisioner along with them Im afraid Clemens may be on this list He bulked up and added speed to his fast ball then didnt play the first month of the season I hope he wasnt cleanin his system out This is just paranoia on my part and I hope its not true but the veil falls over all of them now THATS WHY ZERO TOLERANCE WOULD STOP ALL THIS Bonds could always take up Bicycle racing!!! DOOH PS DeLuca is catching a great season for my Mets He calls games great and as #2 Hitter behind Reyes hes moving guys into scoring position He is in the middle of a divorce and this item comes up in the NY Papers that he has a gambeling problem He loves horse racing, was raised around it,owns a few horses and wants to be a trainer when his basball days are over. HE BETS ON HORSES not humans andgoes to the track like a lot of us The commisoner knew this the league and his team knew this HE HAS NO DEBT PROBLEMS and a leagal account online for hrse betting and yet he still has to answer all these questions Whcih is good for the game in gereral How come the leagues werent this dilligent with the steroid users? Ill answer my own question HOME RUNS PUT FANNIES IN THE SEATS horses dont Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 Ill answer my own question HOME RUNS PUT FANNIES IN THE SEATS Exactly. It doesnt matter if they get caught because of this $$$. Runs the bottom line. Slap them on the hand then send them back out to hit more home runs. There is a difference in McGwire and Bonds. Bonds got caught. they should do testing on every player atleast 1 time a year and not notify them until about 1 week from the test. The announcers were talking about this last night and one player that you never here associated is K Griffey JR. He is a great player and has never been mentioned on steroids. I dont think he uses them but you never know. Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 Just look at him he has a ball players physique and it takes him forever to heal from an injury Its the guys with the NFL builts and speedy recoveries that most often raise my suspicision There are still more guys in the majority playin fair(minus the ocaasional spit ball) that keep the game fun I dont want to throw the baby out with the bathwater Even though McGuire didnt get caught I hate when someone urinates on my shoe and tries to convince me thats its raining 8-) Quote
KentuckyBass Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 Reds rebounded from the Monday thrashing pretty good - won 10-3 on Tuesday...Great game and catch by Freel...Game 3 tonight at 7:10 Quote
Valascus Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 Reds rebounded from the Monday thrashing pretty good - won 10-3 on Tuesday...Great game and catch by Freel...Game 3 tonight at 7:10 Yeah, yeah...they also did it against a Jason marquis who was trying to accomplish God knows what by overthrowing everything and showing a complete lack of concentration. J/K. Although I was not about Marquis...he flat sucked last night. Nice job by the Reds in putting that loss behind them and coming to play ball. That catch by Freel was psychotic. Tonight should be interesting. Carp vs. Harang. i think the last time those two hooked up it ended in a 1-0 victory for the Reds. Great pitching duel. Quote
KentuckyBass Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Hey Valascus, what about that game tonight...Reds trail by one in the 9th and PH Ross hits a walk-off homer to win the game...Incredible! Great American Ballpark is definately a home-run park...6 homers in the game including a St. Louis grand-slam in the first. KYBass Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 AND THE METS KEEP ROLLIN ON!!!!!!!!!!! It was good to see how they greeted Piazza back, he did such a great job as a met, sometimes with little support. I wish he could have stayed to get back to the WS, he still has a shot with the Padres But Im pullin for the Mets hes now wearing the wrong uniform Quote
KentuckyBass Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Yeah, they really did welcome Piazza back...kinda cool to see - especially the curtain call after his homer. It was definately something you don't see everyday - the away team scores and there was a curtain call. lol Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 OK guys, I don't like the heat that is building here. No taunting No disrespect of nationalities or other folks opinions. Zel Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 I see my post was removed regarding baseball. I guess some did not understand the post as humor, and not as disrespect for nationalities. For anyone who saw my post before it was deleted, and took offense, here is an explaination. 1. Many people associated with baseball know about Chicago Cubs infielders Joe Tinker, Johnny Evers, and Frank Chance formed the most memorable double-play combination in the history of baseball. "Baseball's Sad Lexicon" These are the saddest of possible words: "Tinker to Evers to Chance." Trio of bear cubs, and fleeter than birds, Tinker and Evers and Chance. Ruthlessly pricking our gonfalon bubble,* Making a Giant hit into a double-- Words that are heavy with nothing but trouble: "Tinker to Evers to Chance."** 2. Major League Baseball is referred to as America's Pastime. 3. Last night on BLUE COLLAR TV, which airs on the WB network, there was brief comedy skit about baseball by Larry the Cable Guy. He used the same line as I did, except I used 3 Mets players because the thread was started by a Mets fan. The post combined a parody of famous line Tinker to Evers to Chance, along with a play on America's Passtime because many players in the MLB list their hometowns (and I repeat hometowns) are from places not in the United States. And the three players I listed were infield players who state their hometowns are located outside the U.S. It was not a disrespect of nationalities as the players mentioned have hometowns from various counties, none of which is the U.S. As a matter of fact my uncle played in the MLB for over 20 years and he was not born in this country. Since it was removed, I guess some people didn't quite get the humor, so I decided to explain the post. Sorry if anyone took offense. Quote

KYBass Someone needs to beat Izzy in the head...I was a little disappointed by the game, mainly becuase I was hoping it would be a good pitching duel. But it turned into an absolute slugfest. I am a huge Cardinals fan, but I gotta say, I see a lot of vulnerabilities in this years team. Vulnerabilities that could very well lead to an early playoff exit. LaRussa and Dunc need to be collaborating to figure out someway to get things under control NOW so that things don't blow up in our face in the playoffs. Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Its 220pm and your ahead by 5 and the Reds still have a chance Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Hey Muddy, what place are the Mets in? The way the cards are going we will be fighting for the wild card shortly if they dont straighten out. Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 In first and were ahead by 4 runs now. The Cards will put another streak together DONT WORRY they have benifited b/c their division is weak but that is a good team When you consider what happened with their starting pitching this year Its a tribute to the team and manager they are still in the thick of it The one danger Zone will be the Mets in the NLCS Quote
ikebass15 Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 ......The way the cards are going we will be fighting for the wild card..... yep!!!!!!!!!!! the Astros are going to win the divison. sorry cards and reds!!!! hey G-man remeber last year....... that was fun!!!!!!!! Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Hey fellas I got a little sharp with a response and I ratted myself out to the moderators. I apologize sometimes i need to put some time between what I THINK AND WHAT I DO. NOTHING COULD BE MORE AMERICAN THAN THE NEXT WAVE OF IMMIGATION TURNING A DOUBLE PLAY my dad loved Carl Furillo it made him feel part of the American Dream You know laws to stop racisim and bill and amendments are all a waste of ime The best soution to stop all this is simple every block in every city should be handed a Stick ball bat and a couple of pink rubber balls LET ME EXPLAIN I grew up in a lower middle class neighborhood known as SOUTH BROOKLYN Court street to be exact then moveed to Park Slope One of us each spring (Would borrow) a broom or mop from our fireescape cut the head off and tape that end with black electric tape then we would get either a pensypinker or a spalding pink ball choiose up sides and play stick ball. We sang the National Anthem Home plate was a sewer, as was second ; First was a chevy and 3rd a buick sOMETIMES A GUY HAD TO LEAVE AND WOULD WAIT FOR US TO FINISH THE INNING The important part of this is the team reflected the hood. We were many colors, many nationalities and were taught to live together and respect eachother So Ifound out that Mr Mcay was a carpenter and Mrs McCay made this great dish called Sheapards pie, And larry McCay couldnt catch a pop up if his life depened on it. The Perezes owned the corner store Mrs Perez made Pastellas, rice and beans and Pernil that was so delicious. Mr Perez taught me about Tito Puentes b/c he saw me learning how to play drums Their son Harry could run down a fly ball even if a bus was in the way. Josh Jackson was the best hitter we had His mom Rosabelle worked as a secratary in the local Catholic school and made the best fried chicken and greens a guy could want His dad was a cop. I was easily distracted all the other team had to do was get a pretty girl to stand on a stoop and smile at me and I looked liked Bruckner in game 6 in 86. My Mom was a seamstress and cooked the best Macaroni in the world and My dad was a butcher. All of us got to know this and live together around a game called stick ball AS a neighborhood we frequently wne to Shea on Sat together and Baseball had the same different faces our hood had So whatever names are turing double plays I hope they keep reflecting the various peoples who make up America Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Well the Cards Split and Mets won their series with The Pards. Now how bad was the Carnials week it ends like it started 31/2 Games ahead of the Reds even Tony talked about his pitching problems now they can drop the extra pitchers and add 2 more position players which hurt them a little this week The Reds are their only competion and while they may be the comeback kids they dont have the pitching needed to take this Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Muddyman in about 2 weeks it will be Cards vs mets. We might see a preliminary event. Quote
