Valascus Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 Looks like Phat Albert is starting to come out of it a bit...2 dingers and 5 RBI. Not a bad day. He completey overshadowed poor Chris Duncan's day though which wasn't too shabby either. He went 4 for 5 and absolutely ANNIHILATED that ball he hit for his Home Run. Great day for both of 'em. Got another good start from Braden Looper. He showed some good toughness out there too by taking those two liners that hit him and continuing to pitch. If he keeps utilizing the defense behind him with that sinker he throws he could enjoy good success as a starter as long as his health holds. And finally, how about Yadi HOSING Prince Fielder in the fifth for the final out on that pick off at first...man I LOVE it when Yadi does that. ;D Quote
RiskKid. Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 UH OH!!!!! Wang, Pavano and Mussina out........Rivera gets dinged for a two out homer by a little guy.......Jeter's got 6 errors..... Glad there are 150 some games to go Quote
bassmasta7 Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 And finally, how about Yadi HOSING Prince Fielder in the fifth for the final out on that pick off at first...man I LOVE it when Yadi does that. ;D That was SICK!!! No catcher has a better arm than him. Looper was solid. He has been a better starter than reliever. I know it is still a while away but when mulder comes back (healthy i hope) who get the boot out of the rotation. Before the season started it was a no brainer, Looper. But with the way he is pitching you can really use him. This is assuming carp comes back soon. I think Reyes has pitched the worst so far but he has been ok. I really hope those two hrs he hit means he is coming out of his slump. He still did chase some pitches yesterday. I think Duncan will hit 35hrs this year which is good because rolen and edmonds are no longer those type of players. Thats never good when you have 3 sp on the DL. I think we are now seeing those big Free Agent yankee aquisitions hitting the end of their contracts and passing the prime of their career. Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 2 days in a row RAINED OUT>>>>>at least we didn't loose ;D Quote

NORAINNORAINNORAINNORAIN (and the you kinda shuffle yuor feet around) OMG! What a game! Yanks come back from 6-2 in the ninth with 2 outs and win the game 8-6 off A-Rod's 10th (yes 10) homer and 26th RBIs. Glad I stayed until the end. Like Yogi said, "It ain't over until it's over." Panamoka_Bassin Posted April 21, 2007 Posted April 21, 2007 Is it just me, or is Alex Rodriguez just about the most dialed-in player there is right now? 12 dingers and 30 RBIs, and it's only the 21st of April, 15 games into the season. At this rate, he'll have somewhere near 120 HRs and 350 RBIs if he keeps this pace. Obviously, he's not going to, but what kind of numbers do you think he will actually put up? I'm thiking 55 HRs and 175 RBIs is not so out of the realm of possibilities... Quote
bassmasta7 Posted April 21, 2007 Posted April 21, 2007 Last year, Albert was on pace to hit 100hrs for a while and he was supposed to hit about 80 through may. He of course got injured and only hit 49. A-Rod is even hotter than Albert was. He is going crazy. I think he will hit just under 60hr this year. All the analyst are worried about Albert not hitting early in the season because he did so great last year early. I am not worried because the year before he started off terrible and ended up with a good season. Cards won yesterday against the cubbies. Looper gave up only 1 run and Preston Wilson hit a 2 run hr to win 2-1. Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted April 21, 2007 Posted April 21, 2007 AS A NY METS FAN:All I can say about the Braves at this point of the season Quote
Fish Man Posted April 21, 2007 Posted April 21, 2007 still feeling that way muddy????? looks like those mets might win ;D Quote
bassmasta7 Posted April 21, 2007 Posted April 21, 2007 Looks like a 2-man show in the NL East this year. That is kinda what i was expecting. I just dont think the other teams in the east are as solid all-around as the braves and mets. Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 Well the weekend started we were a half game in first ahead of the Braves and now its Monday and we are a half game out behind the Braves WHAT ELSE IS NEW IN BASEBALL LAND ;D Quote
Fish Man Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 whats new? the o's in second place in the AL east. i dont know if i can remember the last time that ever happened!!!! ;D anyone think they got a shot this year against teams like the yankees and the red sox? Quote
Panamoka_Bassin Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 Yanks get swept by the Sox. Oh, boy, that burns my brisket! At least ARod is still en fuego. 2 more dingers last night in Tampa. How long can he keep this up? Quote
logger Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 Tigers had a rough one yesterday after coming back from 7 runs down. But beware Chicago, Gary Sheffield is starting to find his swing, and if our bullpen could get their crap together we are going to be very, very tough to beat. What's the deal with the league's big hitters Pujols, Texeria, Giambi, Sheffield, Frank Thomas, Berkman all hitting under .240?!!! Quote
RiskKid. Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 UGH!!!! Yankee fan must shut up.......it can't be this bad......can it???? Been out of town in Dallas.....went to see the Rangers vs Mariners last Monday.....very nice ballpark and had a great time.....between that and the Lake Fork trip I'm getting to really like Texas! Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 Hey Risk it's spring man the only time of the year when my Mets are in first and your Yankeee, well they are your Yankees Quote
RiskKid. Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 11 runs to the Bosox tonight...............I think we gotta bring back Ruth, Gherig, Dimagio and Mantle to score enough runs for this depleted pitching staff......its not funny any more :'( OK I know you Yankee detractors are lovin it....what can one say.....I just hope we figure it out soon Quote
tipptruck1 Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 Iam not a big baseball fan but I can watch it. Iam just glad my brewers are doing good. I just hope that they dont start a down fall after the all star break. Quote
bassmasta7 Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 R.I.P. Josh Hancock He was a great player and a huge loss for the Cardinal family. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. :'( Quote
Super User Hookemdown. Posted May 6, 2007 Super User Posted May 6, 2007 I third that. Even with all of the complications, a loss of life is a loss of life. Also, since no one's posted in a while.....SOX IN 07. I can almost taste it. Quote
Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted May 6, 2007 Super User Posted May 6, 2007 I guess I have a small place in my heart for the ..... Yankees now :'(. Clemens is back. Always been a big fan and then a few years ago my buddy and I got to hang out with him in the Clubhouse of the golf course I was working out for about 15 minutes. He was playing in a charity golf tournament hosted by George Brett. What a great guy. Quote
