HEY I GOTTA IDEA-------that can be dangerous coming from me Whose ever team wins this will be responsible for starting a simialr thread next year after the all star break Whatta you guys think? Why does this one have to stop? We only have about 5 months until baseball starts again Quote
RiskKid. Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 I think this should keep going......we can have all kinds of fun with the hot stove comin up....winter meetings, free agency, where in the world will A Rod go etc.... etc..... Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted October 28, 2006 Super User Posted October 28, 2006 Wow! Bases loaded and the runner looked safe to me...Well, we'll see. 1 down, 8 to go. Quote

RiskKid. Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 Man......they are havin fun in St Louis!!!!!!!!!! 4 more at bats for the kittens Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted October 28, 2006 Super User Posted October 28, 2006 2:1 in the fifth and Detroit pitchers still can't play defense. I'm not a big fan, but this doesn't remind me of "professional" baseball. Eight unearned runs in four games is ridiculous, especially in the World Series. I just glad it's football season. Â Broncos 17, Colts 3... GO BRONCOS! Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 Hey RW good to see you on the bb thread! What a play byu PUJOS/WEAVER I hate to see the series end now b/c I am gonna hate to see this thread die WHAT A RIDE!!! Hey Risk thanks for the PM thats the reel Im going with! Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 Lets go cards Few more innings, lets keep the lead and beat these tigers. Quote
Super User K_Mac Posted October 28, 2006 Super User Posted October 28, 2006 RW We Card fans can feel Detroit's pain. Getting swept in 2004 was gut-wrenching. Sometimes the wheels just come off and nothing you can do will fix it. It 's part of what makes the game great. Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 Congrats to the Cardinals and their fans  They have finally redeemed the National League  Good Series ! And now its time for me to sing the Mets theme song  WAIT TILL NEXT YEAR : Quote

I feel like I pitched that last inning. muddy_man you are a class act; you pulled for us even when we sent your team home. You're a true BASEBALL fan. Â I'm with you-it is about time a NL team stands in the spotlight. Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 Yea hats off to Gman indeed I was really looking for a DT that had Mets colors but thats just not right PM me Gman Im curious how long this thread will go now I BET WE BROKE SOME KINDA RECORD speaking of records I have to go on the Elias site(official MLB record keepers) does anyone know if Detroit broke the record for errors in a 5 game WS? Quote
Valascus Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 Yes they did Muddy. I believe they are the new record holders of that very unwanted part of history. Quote
bassmasta7 Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I still dont believe it. OH MAN!!! WORLD CHAMPS!!! CJ Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 I was just skimming over all the post on this thread. It has been a great one!My hats off to all the teams and their fans! Muddy,I wouldn't have wanted it to be any other team than your Mets that lost the NLCS to my Cards! ;D Sorry, just had to get that last one in.Anyway atleast they stretched the Cards out to 7. Well only one thing left to say! [move]GO CRAZY FOLKS! GO CRAZY! GO CRAZY FOLKS! GO CRAZY! GO CRAZY FOLKS! GO CRAZY! GO CRAZY FOLKS! GO CRAZY![/move] Quote
Super User senile1 Posted October 28, 2006 Super User Posted October 28, 2006 The Cardinals are going to kick butt and make the series. Â Then they will sweep their Americn league opponent . . . . . . . . . . . Oh, sorry. Â Daydreaming again. Â I just had to remind everyone of my quote above when the Cardinals were almost blowing their lead in the division. Â I'll be taking anyone's request who would like to speak with their dead relatives later today. Â Weaver pitched magnificently. Â Who would have thought it. Â As already stated, Muddy_Man, thanks for all your support, Dude. Â You're the man. Â Cardinals, 2006 World Champions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted October 28, 2006 Super User Posted October 28, 2006 I'm heading up to St. Louis in an hour or so. It's probably a good thing I watched of few innings of this series, I think it will dominate the conversation this weekend. What do you think? Congratulations to the Cardinals and their loyal fans! Â Well done. Quote
Super User senile1 Posted October 28, 2006 Super User Posted October 28, 2006 Indeed, St Louis is going to be Party town this weekend. Â Watch out for drunk drivers, RW. Â Riskkid, thanks for your support in the series as well. Â I hate to see this thread end. Â The sportsmanship and camaraderie exhibited in this thread is what a good forum is all about. Â I appreciate all of you guys. Â So what's next? How about a thread on the football season? Â Those Raiders, Bills, and Cardinals are looking mighty tough. Â : Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 Congrats to the Cardinals (I still didn't know the church had a team since the Padres but....lol) and their fans. Safe travels RW Quote
Super User cart7t Posted October 28, 2006 Super User Posted October 28, 2006 I'm heading up to St. Louis in an hour or so. It's probably a good thing I watched of few innings of this series, I think it will dominate the conversation this weekend. What do you think? Congratulations to the Cardinals and their loyal fans! Â Well done. If you come to St Louis, the Cardinals dominate a lot of conversations whether they're in the series or not. Â ;D OK, I'm eating crow. Â I didn't think the birds could get R done. Â Man was I WRONG! Â Between Reyes major pitching outing in the first game, Ecksteins huge pickup in play, Weavers incredible pitching and my favorite Players, Scott Rolens big bat towards the end there I'm just amazed. Â That was truely a team effort and not done on the back of Pujols. Â MY CONGRADULATIONS TO THE CARDINALS. I'm glad this series and playoffs are over, these nite games were getting difficult to stay up for. I'm petitioning the MLB for at least 2 WS day games from now on to bring back tradition. Who's with me? Quote
Valascus Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 The Cardinals have just won the World Series...and what am I interested in now? Less than 12 hours before their World Series Title, I am looking at one thing and hoping that the Cardinals can do the one thing that no team since 2000 could accomplish. A World Series Title Defense. How will they do it next year? I am going to watch Jocketty and the Dewitt Group very closely to see what kind of offseason moves they make to try to hold the core pieces of this team together and add new pieces to the mix to try to be the first team to go back to back in quite some time. That's what's in the back of my mind. BUT...for now I am just sitting back and enjoying the first Cardinals WS title since I was born. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH..... and that's a winner! Â Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 Oh man guys, I'm still excited. Â I was suppose to go hunting this morning but couldnt sleep last night. Â This is great. Whooohoo. Now if the Rams and Blues can pull off some wins :-? I'm heading up to St. Louis in an hour or so. It's probably a good thing I watched of few innings of this series, I think it will dominate the conversation this weekend. What do you think? Congratulations to the Cardinals and their loyal fans! Well done. Stop by my house on your way. Â You will pass right by me on 55 on the way up there. Quote
