RiskKid. Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 Darn Muddy.....why did you have to remind me of Mazeroski.... > > >....I remember watching that as a young pup and waiting for the "do over" call.....still waiting :-? :-? Good memories of those 69 Mets and Jets....Tom Terrific and Broadway Joe put the double smackdown on Baltimore AND.......yep, our guy DJ is the real deal, home grown and cut from the cloth as Gerhig, DiMaggio and Mantle....and yes The Babe too even though we got him from those rabblerousers from Beantown, after all we do play in his house A-Rod is a great talent but too polished (like a foo foo poodle) and has not done it consistently in the clutch.....we need to get Mr. October to work with him some  ;D ;D Go git em Met's.... Quote
RiskKid. Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 Chin up Muddy....... nobody thought the A's had a shot over the Twinkies and right now I'd rather be a Mets fan than a Twins fan.....everyone thought the Red Birds had no shot, rather be 1-0 than 0-1 Willie Randolph will bring you thru...after all he went thru the Yankees training program  Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 I wish I went through the yankees training program. Â Over rated over paid. Â Gee that sounds nice. Â Cant wait til the Cards play again. Â Suspense is killing me. Quote

bassmasta7 Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 Mets lookin good. They faced the Dodgers #1 ace against the Mets #5 starter and still won. Who needs Pedro? (see * in my playoff predictions to see my upset team) Quote

Siebert Outdoors Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 My boss is a huge Yankees fan. Â So in respect out of this, I just sent a email to him that says GO TIGERS in huge font. ;D Quote
RiskKid. Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 GMAN, true baseball fans either love or hate the Yankees so a true fan you are........it's just got to be awful hating them and being disappointed so often.....just think, if they win your boss will be in a good mood and you could hit him up for a raise  ;D ;D ;D Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 His response "Would you like to be fired today?" I'm thinking about replying as. If it means I get out of here early to go fishing? Sure, see ya tomorrow. He might be in a good mood but even after a WS win I dont think that would happen. Â IF for some reason the Yanks win, we will find out. Â I will try. Quote
RiskKid. Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 Maybe you should just apologize and ask him to reduce the firing to a one day suspension.....er fishing day  Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 bases loaded K-Rod up to bat. Good try better luck next time. ;D 1-0 Tigers Whoo hoo. Quote
ejtaylor822 Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 Hey guys, Just spent the last few days reading through this thread - very good one by the way - after Muddy suggested I take a peak from another thread. Wound up working from home today and have the tigers-yanks game (postponed from last night) on. Â Verlander is pretty amazing 100+ MPH fast balls. Â Not very accurate today, but, he's got killer heat. Â Doing a prety good job keeping the yanks batters in check - oops spoke too soon - Damon just ripped one in the upper deck after I wrote that last sentence - these yankee bats are incredible. Â Jeter had a great night Tuesday, that was a heckuva of a performance he had, just put on a hit clinic going 5 for 5. From what I have seen coming out of the regular season and these first few games, my $$$ is on the yankees. Â Their hitting is just too strong and they have the experience. Looking forward to the Padres and Cards this afternoon - that's a good one. Eddie Quote
bassmasta7 Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 I just got home from school so IDK if joel zumaya has pitched yet but he can throw it easily as hard as verlander on most days. Risk, I am a yankee hater. I mean with the fiercest passion until the sox beat us in the WS. Now i hate the sox with a passion and the Yankees 2nd most. So it is not as bad anymore. Quote
RiskKid. Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 > > > > > > > At least some of us around here are happy........still got the job GMAN Â ;D ;D Quote

Super User K_Mac Posted October 5, 2006 Super User Posted October 5, 2006 Cards are 2-0 ;D ;D ;D I love this game. Quote
CJ Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 The Cards always get these guys for a warm up! ;D Gman, didn't go back and see when I started preaching that Wainwright should come in and close but I'm glad Tony and Dave finally see it my way! Everything has come togather for the Cards the last 2 games.I hope they are on the upside and not peeking yet. I hope L.A. can atleast make this interesting.I'd like to see the Cards get a little rest before they run over the Mets or Dodgers on their way to the World Series! So, GO CARDS! GO DODGERS(for tonight anyway,I wanna see the Cards beat the Mets!) GO TIGERS(since your playing the Yanks) GO........I really could care less about the Twins or A's! Quote
RiskKid. Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 Hats off to ya Red Bird Fans  No truth to that rumor Muddy......K Rod may not be allowed back in though....boy he better pick it up!  > Quote
Super User senile1 Posted October 6, 2006 Super User Posted October 6, 2006 Yes!!!!!!!!!!!! Â Cards up 2-zip. Â So far Pujols has been most of their offense. Â Three for four today. Â Surprising Cardinal pitching considering the last few weeks of the season. Â Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 Hey, just noticed this thread, not a big sports watcher,...this is about baseball, right? : Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 Hey Russ good to see a moderator up on the best baseball thread goin. Â I guess coming from New England you must be a Red Sox Fan which means you really dont know much about post season play Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 Hey Russ good to see a moderator up on the best baseball thread goin. I guess coming from New England you must be a Red Sox Fan which means you really dont know much about post season play Ouch, Let me pick myself up off the floor from laughing on that one. Â You zinged him good. That is hilarious. At least some of us around here are happy........still got the job GMAN I actually didnt know the final score and walked in and asked " So did the Yanks win?" Â I got the evil eye and ran off. Â But it answered my question. Â If the Yanks lose a whole series my buddy and I are going to anounce it over the intercom at work. Â it ought to make about 95% of the building cheer and the 3 Yank fan a bit mad. Â So come on Tigers. Quote
RiskKid. Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 Rodriguez went 0-for-4, including two other strikeouts that ended the fifth and eighth innings. By the time his day was finished, boos were raining down. Yankees owner George Steinbrenner didn't mince words: "I didn't like him that well." Uh Oh..K Rod's in the dog house...if he doesn't pick it up he's gonna be a Los Angeles Angel of Anaheim Quote
