Troutfisher Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 Well, not only have I not done a poll in a while, but I wanted to get everyone's input on the chances of the Steelers making it to Super Bowl 42. I know it's a long shot , but I wanted to get some other opinions. Personally, I believe they could do it. In 2005, when they were 11-5 for the season, and they had the wildcard spot, no one said that they could do it, but they ended up beating the Bengals, Colts, and Patriots and taking the title. With last night's 38-7 romping at Baltimore, I think they may go all the way. Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted November 6, 2007 Super User Posted November 6, 2007 I am a big Stillers fan, and I think they have a chance. It will be easy to gauge their chances in a couple weeks against New England. I will be more willing to lend a definite opinion at that time. Wayne Quote
Troutfisher Posted November 6, 2007 Author Posted November 6, 2007 Much of the same here. That game will be the defining point of their season. A tough away game against clearly one of the best teams of the NFL. I don't know, they've did it before, maybe they can do it again. Quote
Super User Tin Posted November 6, 2007 Super User Posted November 6, 2007 There is NEW ENGLAND, Indy. What about the Jags and Titans? But December 9th against the Pats and the December 16th game against the Jags will be great games and a real test to see how good they are. Quote
JCrzy4Bass Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 They got a tough road ahead of em' but they are getting better as the season goes on and Roth has got into his grove passing the ball. As long as they can keep a solid run game, keep winning those division games, and stay atop of their division it's possible. Anything is possible in the playoffs as they proved a couple years ago. The Pats game against them should be a good one and challenge for em'. It's possible though. Quote
Guest btlva Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 I hope the Steelers make it to the Super Bowl. It'll be an easy win for the Skins Quote
Guest muddy Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 About as much chances as a cowboy and a convent resident >>>>>>SLIM AND NUN!!!!!!!!! Quote
rondef Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 They will have to play with the same intensity that they played with last night, all season long. That Steelers Patriots game should be a good test for them. Any team can beat any other team in any given week if they play smart football. In my opinion, I think the Patriots will win it all and finish with a perfect season. Quote
llPa1nll Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 AFC Championship goes through Foxboro, Ma. After winning at Indy I honestly dont see the Patriots losing... Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted November 7, 2007 Super User Posted November 7, 2007 History and stats show that going undefeated is not as easy as talking about it. First off in the AFC, we have seen a team making a run at the undefeated season alot over the years. We have said the same things about the Colts as we are about the Pats. Unstoppable, who can beat them? Dungy would rest his players, we've seen that before, so I think even if they had a chance to set or tie the record, Dungy would still rest his key players and heal the injuried. Never got that far. Now with the current Pats. Indy/Pats game did one thing that should scare most teams. It showed the Pats, they can be beat, and that only makes them stronger now. They'll play even harder now. I think they can be beat, and it will take a team with a very physical defense to do so. Normally under the old coach of the Steelers, I think they are the best chance for the old Dolphins to bust the bubbly open. I haven't seen or recall a Pitt came this year, so how physical they are this year, I don't know. OLD REPUTATION. would say the Steelers are one and have been a physical team for years. Without Cowers on the sidelines, I just don't know. I think the Pats have enough motivation to get it done. Odds are against them, but they sure look good. Quote
