Valascus Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 Well, I don't believe in Bigfoot, Sasquatch, or Yeti or whetever you wanna call 'em, but, those are like no bear I have ever seen before. And the front legs or arms of the animal are way too long for it to be a human dressed up in some sorta get up. No humans arms are that long. I dunno what on earth those are. However, all that said, c'mon folks, you don't think the timing of the release of this "evidence" isn't a little coincidental? It was ,after all, Halloween the day the story was released. I'll believe in Sasquatch when I see it with my own two eyes close enough to be d**n sure...then I'd probably soil myself. ;D Quote
Guest btlva Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 When I saw that picture I was really intrigued too. It looked like some kind of scary chimp. Then I saw the second picture. It's clearly a bear. I think they suspect it's so skinny due to mange. Maybe one of these days a real one will turn up. Quote
bass109 Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 I believe in Bigfoot, also in tooth fairy, santa, and George Bush. Quote
baboosicbass08 Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 If it was a bear you would think you'd be able to see its tail in the picture where its bent over... Either way its safe to say i would be scared s***less to see this thing in the woods Quote
Super User FishTank Posted November 3, 2007 Super User Posted November 3, 2007 It's just a bear. I don't get how people could believe it would be anything else. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted November 4, 2007 BassResource.com Administrator Posted November 4, 2007 When I saw that picture I was really intrigued too. It looked like some kind of scary chimp. Then I saw the second picture. It's clearly a bear. I think they suspect it's so skinny due to mange. Maybe one of these days a real one will turn up. Look at the time stamps on the pictures. They were taken a 1/2 hour apart. It's not the same animal. Might want to read the info on the page too: http://www.bfro.net/avevid/jacobs/jacobs_photos.asp I dives into the debate between "mangy bear" and "baby sasquatch". Personally, I think it's entirely feasible there's a species of unclassified primates out there. Is that reason to be afraid of them? No, not at all. I would love to know their role in the ecosystem, rather than kill them. I'd like to learn more about them. The more educated people are about them, the less afraid of them they will be. Quote
Fish Man Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 It's just a bear. I don't get how people could believe it would be anything else. mange, dont get me wrong i believe there is a such thing but thats just not it Quote
fisherdave Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 I dont have enough facts and understanding of the subject to say yes or no on the belief of bigfoot but that picture sure is odd I dont think I have ever seen anything like that before. But I do agree with Glenn theres no reason why there couldnt be something in the woods that no one has cold hard facts about but if I do ever see something of that nature in person I dont think I am going to hang around long enough to believe myself if I make it out. mike bat Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 i wont say i believe in bigfoot .... altho there was a DNR here in wisconsin that was picking up road kill and tossin it in the back of his pick up .... he stopped to toss a small deer in the back and at his next stop he says his truck started shakin and he saw a big foot run off with the deer ..... who knows ... there could be .... i mean there are plenty of places just here in wi where people dont venture .... i thought it was creepy that a DNR of all people would say he saw one ,,, trust he knows what a bear looks like ..... :-/ Quote
Guest btlva Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 Glenn that's a very interesting website. I didn't know the pics were taken so far apart. Definitely makes you think. I guess I still have to say I think it was a bear though. There have just been too many blurry or obscure pictures found to be hoaxes or just distorted images for me to believe this one yet. I wonder why there are no pics of the animals approaching the bait? Does anyone know how those cameras work as far as timing? Do they have a delay after the sensor is tripped? Here in VA there have been Bigfoot sightings in the past as well. I believe the creature(s) witnessed became known as the "Wild Man". There were some interesting stories about sightings of that beast. Apparently it was fast, strong, and stunk to high heaven. I would absolutely not rule out the existence of some yet undiscovered primate or "Sasquatch". In fact I hope that they exist. That would be too cool....but still scary. Quote
Fisher of Men Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 Thanks for the website, Glenn. I, too, don't completely dismiss the whole idea of bigfoots, ghosts, or extra-terrestrial beings. I think the key to learning is to keep an open mind. Otherwise we would never learn anything. On a lighter note, I think these are pictures of a Circus Bigfoot. It looks like he's trying to turn a somersault. ;D Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted November 5, 2007 Super User Posted November 5, 2007 A couple of years ago, one of the cable stations (Discovery Channel/National Geo. ?) ran a show about a chimpanzee that was walking upright like a person, was much smarter than the average chimpanzee, and was shunned by the chimps around it. The scientists were speculating that this chimp was some sort of freak leap forward in chimp evolution. Quote
Fisher of Men Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 "Smarter than the average chimpanzee". You know, the same thing happened to Yogi. ;D Quote
Super User Raul Posted November 5, 2007 Super User Posted November 5, 2007 Anatomically speaking, all the supposed sightings and the folklore surrounding Big Foot describes the creature as having a stand up position and walking on it 's two feet, only the members of the human family ( hominids ) present ( us ) and extinct can do that, all of them share common characteristics aside the locking mechanism of the knee joint, the length of the arms has the same body vs arm length ratio and the leg length vs the body length is pretty much the same in all the species of hominids, all hominids have a toe in line with the medial plane of the leg otherwise the creature can 't walk for long distances standing on two feet. Apes can walk for short distances on it 's two feet but not for al long time, their own anatomy restricts them from doing so, otherwise they have to walk with arms and legs placing the knucles on the ground. Yup it is a primate, unclassified ? probably not ..... somebody must have left Tarzan 's buddy out of the cage because that looks pretty much like a chimpanzee bent over. Quote
boondocks Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 Honestly, by looking at the pictures, I can't tell what the heck that thing is. It doesn't look like a bear thats for sure. I certainly don't believe in Bigfoot. Looks to me like the guy had his kid dress up like a monkey and run by his trail Cam a couple times. Someday if I find a trail cam in the woods, I'd like to do something like that.hehehehe Quote
John J. Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 I believe in a possibility. There's still animals that scientists are discovering still and I wouldn't doubt that "Bigfoot" is another creature that we have yet to discover. The field is called "Crypto-zoology" for those who don't know lol. As far as creatures such as Werewolves, etc. I think that's redundant. The only chance to get a hybrid of a man and wolf/dog is inbreeding, and I don't think anyone in their right mind would want to "mate" with a wolf or dog...and even if they did, chances are the cross-breeding traits would be rejected by the offspring. God bless 8-) Quote
Super User Raul Posted November 6, 2007 Super User Posted November 6, 2007 Looks to me like the guy had his kid dress up like a monkey and run by his trail Cam a couple times. Hard to achieve such distribution of the coat with a costume, notice the relatively bald areas underneath the arm, behind the knee, the thinning of the coat as it comes near the foot on the back of the leg. Much more consistant with this: Quote

Super User MALTESE FALCON Posted November 7, 2007 Super User Posted November 7, 2007 I believe there is some other "being" out there, whether it's Bigfoot or Sasquatch, or whatever name it's given. There have been too many stories about the subject. It's even mentioned in some Idian folklore. Until there is some real proof of their existance, there will be non-believers. Falcon Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted November 7, 2007 Super User Posted November 7, 2007 don't know if this counts, but I have seen one of ShaQ's Shoes, and He does have a Big FOOT. Quote
