When I was a kid down in Buras La. These big black and yellow grasshoppers would come out by the millions. They would be everywhere. The roads were coated with yellow goo from cars running over them. Every blade of tall grass in the yard would have one hanging on it. It was like something out of a horror movie. We sat out on the back porch and shot them with a bb gun, until we ran out of bbs. I hated them.

Sand Fleas or no see ums call them what you will, but after spending 3 months at Parris Island, I hate those things. :o

x10000 here buddy! Any one here from Florida has surely had an encounter with them. They are like mosquitoes on crack. They can go through your window screens.Insect repellent rarely works, nor does smoking,When you get bit it is second to a small bee sting.Would rather deal with skeeters any day.

Any one mention Gators??

I fish a lot of small ponds mostly.Used to do a lot of wading and belly boatin. Not since moving to Florida.Im crazy, but not that crazy. Also have a problem with a lot of the juvenille ones that dont seem shy of boats or people at all.(someone feeding them?) Nothing like casting a topwater in the morning and having some 3 -4 foot lizard chasing your lure back to the boat. Will I ever catch a bass in that area? Hell no! They also see a struggling bass and just come a runnin over right beside the boat.I know I shouldnt feed em but couldnt resist the temtation to let one have a for entertainment.Had one grab a yum frog one day(50 lb braid) and he dragged my 14 foot john boat about 50 feet before I decided to cut the line.Pesky Pesky little bass turds they are!

Big as a dinner plate Wolf Spiders. Can't stand those things and every year one some how manages to get in the house when it turns cold outside. The wife and I usually have a debate on who's going to get rid of it. She always wins. :-?

true that jimzee!  after having woken up one night with a wolf spider on my leg and a bite mark that easily had a 1/4" spacing between the fangs, everytime i see one i will absolutely cower in the corner.

for some reason, they are extremely common where i live, and i usually see 10 or 15 every year.  i had one in my garage that was so big, i could hear it's feet hitting the ground when it ran away.

i scream like a woman when i see them.......ughhhhh (shudders)

senko info about the wolfspider

Venom toxicity - the bite of the Wolf Spider is poisonous but not lethal. Although non-aggressive, they bite freely if provoked and should be considered dangerous to humans. The bite may be very painful. First aid and medical attention should be sought as soon as possible, particularly as to children or the elderly.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Spider Identification - an adult is 1/2 inch to more than 1 inch in body length - mottled gray to brown in color, with a distinct Union Jack impression on its back. The female carries it's young on its back.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Habitat - this spider is a ground dweller, with a burrow retreat. It has a roving nocturnal lifestyle to hunt their prey and can move very rapidly when disturbed. Commonly found around the home, in garden areas with a silk lined burrow, sometimes with a lid or covered by leaf litter or grass woven with silk as a little fence around the rim of the burrow.

;D ;D ;D ;D Oh you big wimps scared of a little bug! J/k

Of all the bugs on this earth I can't stand those Gants/ no see ems as they're referred to. They drive me crazy. Sometimes we get them in our home especially  if we have fresh fruit.

And as for what animal I dispise. I love & respect all god's creatures but not bugs.

I can't believe how many people hate snakes.  Snakes have to be the most inoffensive critters out there.

I don't hate much.  Slugs make me sick.  Camelback crickets are nasty.   These little buggers are pretty inoffensive, till you pick them up...

They are called Blister Beetles and I had an "outbreak" in my yard this spring.  I was finding them everywhere.  I didn't know what they were.  I thought they were some kind of wasp.  Then I found a picture and info on the net.

If you touch one with a stick, it will play dead.  And it does an oscar winning job.  I will curl its legs up and everything.  Then it does the mean part.  It secrets a yellow sticky fluid from its knees.   I read that it burned to the touch.  Being the bright person I am, I picked one up and touched it to the inside of my wrist to see if it really burned.  I didn't burn immediately, but later than night it felt like someone put a cigarette out on my wrist.  Not only did it burn, a fluid filled blister raised up.  It took about a week to go away.  Vey nasty little bugs.   Otherwise, they are apparently pretty harmless - to crops and such.

If you see one, remember, they are caled Blister Beetles for a reason.

That, Micropterus, would be a bad day indeed.  Plenty of bug spray for the trip.  Trust me.  I even spray the bed, around the bed, and on the bed when I sleep.

Dolphins, turtles, whales and whatever else lives in the water and still breathes air. If you live in the water then learn to freaking breathe it ;D

But other than that just sand fleas, the last time that I came bach from being chased off the beach I looked like i had chicken pox from all of the little red bite marks.

I forgot all about those things.  I used to fish the Eel River a lot and I can still remember squeezing those to death when I'd catch them.

I despise Monkeys.  I don't know why, they just bug the hell out of me when I see them on TV.

Around the golf course where I work, we're blessed with Brown Recluse and Black Widow spiders (gotta watch where you put your hands).

Brown recluse are no joke. I tried to step on one once, and when I lifted my foot he turned around and gave me a look like "that all you got?"
