llPa1nll Posted October 11, 2007 Posted October 11, 2007 I dont have any words, that could accurately express how shocked I am at the selfishness of this police officer. If I lived in that jurisdiction I would be embarrassed that something like this was going on in a place I lived in. Well here is the story, you can read it here. Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted October 11, 2007 Super User Posted October 11, 2007 That may be the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. This single event has put the downfall of society into perspective for me... If that lawsuit goes through, it should be considered a crime. Unreal. Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted October 11, 2007 Posted October 11, 2007 Isnt that a risk of the job? So I guess a firefighter could sue if he gets burned, a emt could sue if they fall carrying someone? Where does it end. I guess its a relie on no one and dont trust anyone. Gotta fly solo so no one sue's you. I don't understand!! pretty sad if you ask me. They should fire her for being incompetent as a police officer. Quote
Super User Maxximus Redneckus Posted October 11, 2007 Super User Posted October 11, 2007 And ppl wonder why some of my post get deleted when i bring up social burdens/impacts in America .We as a society are going downhill really fast .100 yrs ago America and its lifestyle was a dreamland now we are the laughing stock of the whole world. Its a free for all .We have doors open for anyone that wants a free ride and if you live here already just jump on the bandwagon also Quote
JCrzy4Bass Posted October 11, 2007 Posted October 11, 2007 Un-freakin-believable. How in the world can you live with yourself doing this to an innocent family? I ask you this... your child is not breathing and is completely blue as you pull him out. You get him inside frantically trying to do cpr or call 911 and then there is a trail of water on the floor... are you going to stop what your doing and mop it up and dry the floor before ambulances get there? Be more careful on your job and pay attention to detail. I mean geez the other paramedics and stuff made it into the room fine. Oh no I may get arthritis... do you know how many americans face that as they get older? With computers being a part of everyday work for office individuals and us using our hands so much, or for manual laborers who constantly carry things around, you don't think the average american is gonna get it? I broke my leg when I was six oh oh, all of a sudden I'm worried my legs gonna have severe arthritis at fifty. Give me a break!!! Quote
Troutfisher Posted October 11, 2007 Posted October 11, 2007 That is absolutely appalling! > She should be fired. Quote
Super User grimlin Posted October 11, 2007 Super User Posted October 11, 2007 This makes me mad....i rather not say what i'm thinking right now. Because it'll surely get deleted.... Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted October 11, 2007 Super User Posted October 11, 2007 This is going to get nasty I just know it. Devils advocate here. No it isn't part of the JOB to get hurt, especially due to someone elses negligence. What if the mom was being neglectful and not watching the baby with her full attention. The baby wonders off and gets hurt and so do other who try and help the baby. Shouldn't the mom or sitter be held accountable. I think so. Suppose your dog attacks me as I come into your house to protect you or your significant other from being hurt or killed during a domsetic dispute. Shouldn't you be held liable? I didn't ASK to come to your house and help be a marriage counselor or referee during your fight. But then again, every case is different. Accidents do happen where you can't really put fault on anyone. That officer has WORKERS COMP to pay for her injury. Quote
Fisher of Men Posted October 11, 2007 Posted October 11, 2007 Devil's advocate or not, it was a puddle of water for crying out loud. That's as about as absurd as the police officer tripping over a child's toy in someone's living room. Would it be the parent's fault for not tidying up the place before the police got there? Please!! > This sorry cop should be ashamed. She should accept that it was an accident that could have happened in her own home and take responsibility for it. Even more pathetic is any attorney who would take this case. Shame on all parties involved!! I hope the judge throws this out. Quote
jeremyt Posted October 11, 2007 Posted October 11, 2007 I hope the judge throws this out. Me too, then I hope he gives the grandparents some sort of monetary compensation for this Bia@#h putting them through this. I guess its true that money is the root of all evil. Quote
Jake. Posted October 11, 2007 Posted October 11, 2007 That is apalling, but at least she had enough senes to drop the lawsuit. Quote
Super User grimlin Posted October 12, 2007 Super User Posted October 12, 2007 That is apalling, but at least she had enough senes to drop the lawsuit. I don't see where she's dropping the lawsuit. The captain plead her to drop it,but she won't. Ahhh..nevermind.They updated the news. Quote
