Fisher of Men Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Hey guys, I have a question. I live near DFW and I'm needing to ship a pump shotgun to my brother who lives near Houston, Texas. I've never shipped a gun before. Can anyone offer some advice? Do I ship it through the post office? UPS? etc? Are there any special forms to fill out? Any advice would be appreciated. Quote
jeremyt Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 May not be the most efficient way, but when I was stationed in Cali, I bought a long gun and had to go to a local gun shop and pay a small fee to have it shipped to a gun shop near my mom and dads. Once I got back to NC I went and picked it up. May work for you or may not, just a suggestion. Quote
Super User fourbizz Posted October 4, 2007 Super User Posted October 4, 2007 http://gunbroker.com/Support/SupportFAQView.asp?FAQID=1118&NoCount=1 here you go. also, if you haven't ever seen that site, look around. gun nut's dream come true. some great deals too! Quote
Super User burleytog Posted October 4, 2007 Super User Posted October 4, 2007 The GunBroker link will tell you everything you need to know. OTOH, it might be cheaper to meet your brother halfway, as you're going to be out some $$ for shipping and then some $$ for the FFL's transfer fee. Quote

Then they didnt have to worry about anything but getting on a plane, picking up their guns and goin hunting. Quote
Fisher of Men Posted October 4, 2007 Author Posted October 4, 2007 Thanks guys! I'm considering just driving it down, or waiting until I see him at Thanksgiving or Christmas at my Grandmother's house. I might end up spending more than the things worth. It is a 70's model 870 Wingmaster pump 20 ga. The stock has been broken and re-glued and the thing has rust pits here and there. It was the first gun that he hunted with and he wants to give it to his son. I offered to give it to him, but he insisted on paying for it. I told him 50 bucks. I can't check into the website here at school (firewall- "gun" in URL address), but I'll look into it at home. Thanks again for the advice!! -Fisher Quote
