Clayton Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 In Texas football is king. In Dallas, Tony Romo is the kings right hand man. This guy gets better every game! I just thought I would let everyone know that. GO COWBOYS! Oh yeah, I looked at tickets for the Patriots game in two weeks. Lower deck fifty yard line 850 bucks!!!! I saw some in the thousands!!!! I have not bought a ticket to watch that team in a long time and was shocked to hear about those prices. Are these normal? When should you buy tickets if you want a good deal? Quote
Red Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 yeah, dallas rules!! my brother and i were gonna try to go to a game(he wins tickets regularly from his job) but after he saw my shark fishing pics he decided to wait and come down next summer to do that...he took my dad to the dallas vs giants game last year...my dad is a hardocre ginats fan and me and my brother are dallas fans...dallas won...i kinda felt bad...my dad finally goes to see the giants play and they lost...but he had a blast either way its kinda nice to see TO not acting like an idiot as well Quote
Super User flechero Posted October 2, 2007 Super User Posted October 2, 2007 When the cowboys are winning, tickets are always super high. When they are losing you can get freebies to any game. Same for the Mavs and Stars. It sucks because the real fan base was priced out of the tickets several years ago... the bulk of the tickets are corporate and season. Your best bet is to find someone with corporate tickets or befriend a parking lot attendant. (they get in free ) I used to take one of them fishing in exchange for getting me into games. Quote
llPa1nll Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 Patriots Vs Cowboys. That will be a very good game. First they have to get by the Browns then its bring on the Cowboys. oh and Go Patriots!!! Quote
Super User flechero Posted October 2, 2007 Super User Posted October 2, 2007 That's funny, coming from a Redskins fan... How deep did they go in the playoffs last year? What is their record this year? ;D ;D Quote
Super User flechero Posted October 2, 2007 Super User Posted October 2, 2007 easy there, I can go all day ;D ;D ;D That's good! Quote
Super User flechero Posted October 2, 2007 Super User Posted October 2, 2007 Darn internet firewall at work, probably better off I don't see it. ;D ;D Alright imma get out of your thread, for fear of further trash talk in the Redskins thread. ;D It's the clip of Joe's leg breaking.... I was watching it live and it still seems like yesterday. Quote
slomoe Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 yea I was pretty young at the time, But that was pretty brutal. I met Joe at the airport when I was 5 years old, wearing his jersey. I don't remember, but my parents always remind me "Remember that time you met Joe Theisman?" Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted October 2, 2007 Super User Posted October 2, 2007 I don't have to replay that one, i can still see it vividly in my mind. One of the worst play to watch again and again. who brought peanuts to the party?????? Now we got skins fans showing up!!!! Slomoe, did you get your handle from your latest QB's? Pretty Slow!!!! I was impressed with Campbell at Auburn. He's no Romo, and Wade is no Gibbs. Matt Quote
slomoe Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 knyuck knyuck, I gotta get outta here, all this blue and silver is making me dizzy. Quote
Super User FishTank Posted October 2, 2007 Super User Posted October 2, 2007 The Cowboys look great this year and I hope they hand the Partriots a big L. Oh ya, GO Colts.......... Quote
Clayton Posted October 2, 2007 Author Posted October 2, 2007 Good to see some fans out there. The Romo drop was a dark day, but he overcame that mistake very well dont you think? Quote
preach4bass Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 I grew up about an hour and a half from D.C., in the heart of "Redskin country." All of my friends were Redskin fans, but my dad raised me right, a Christian and a Cowboys fan!!! When the Redskins won the Super Bowl (1989?) he gave me a scrapbook filled with all of the newspaper and magazine clippings. He got the first laugh, but over the next few years, I got to laught three times as hard! Go Cowboys! Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted October 3, 2007 Super User Posted October 3, 2007 Poor Romo, Romo the holder cost us the game last year, and Romo the QB was the reason we were in position to win that game. Romo has played how many games in his pro career, 13,14, pretty small number. Compare his numbers to Peyton and some other starters in the league and Romo has made some good progress for being a rookie. Alls I can tell you NFC east fans. As long as Romo stays healthy and is playing for the Cowboys, its gonna be along time before you ever see the face of the boys in the standings. Ya'll will be seeing our butts from behind with Romo playing QB. How can Cleveland decide to have a good season this year. Dallas has their #1 draft pick thanks to them letting Cleveland slide up and take Quinn. Cowboys will have two number ONES in the draft next year. Cowboys have won Super Bowls when they have two #1's in the draft. Gonna be some lean years with the new, improved, gun slinger in the pocket. Pats haven't played anyone this year. Their opponents records speak loudly on this also. The Bengals and Bears were supposed to be good road test for both clubs, trouble is, neither team is what its supposed to be at this time of the year. The team that is getting disrespected is INDY, the Pats have been talked about going undefeated this year, and its INDY who beat Tenn, Houston at 2-0 and 3-0. INDY is still the unbeaten DEFENDING CHAMPS. Why is the media leaving the Colts alone with all the chatter? They have to be the favorite to repeat, what has changed for them? They still have Peyton!!!!!! The boys are looking good, real good, but don't forget Romo is still in-experienced. Matt Quote
Clayton Posted October 3, 2007 Author Posted October 3, 2007 In some degree I think that Romo's inexperience is a good thing. What I mean is he may not know what would be a bad decision. Get what I am saying. Its like when you try to teach someone what to do, you end up telling them all the things not to do. That can have an effect on the psyche of a player. Romo isnt thinking about consequences because the rest of the team is good as well. Its like he is just out there having fun, and it is working. Quote

Our opposing teams havent been great that is true but when we played them Jets 0-0 but a tough divisional team that were in the playoffs last year, Chargers were 1-0 and the National guys were touting them to be a team that was going to be there in the playoffs, Bills 0-2 but a tough divisional team, Bengals 1-2 an explosive offensive team that has allot of injuries on their D. The Browns game this coming weekend will be a test as well as playing the Cowboys. The other dimension to their success that is surprising to me that nobody is talking about is how well their defense is playing. With this I mean that arguably their best DB is going to be playing for the first time this year Rodney Harrison, Richard Seymour who is a beast on the D line hasnt played yet, he is expected to return after the Cowboys game I believe. Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted October 4, 2007 Super User Posted October 4, 2007 No respect for the Pats. I did say that Dallas and NE was expecting to get first real test against Bengals and Bears, yet those teams aren't the bench mark of years past. What both teams have shown and done, neither team played to the opponents level. they both took care of business like great teams do. By the way, NE's wn percentage is better when Harrison has been out of the line up. With Harrison out, they give up less yards per catch and less yards per carry. AS like you, we think that they are better team when he's healthy, but thats not what the stats show. I have been Rodney fan since he was a Charger. Strong Safety is one of my favorite postions. Matt Quote
llPa1nll Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Well when ever they do get to play the Cowboys regardless of what their record is it will be a good game. The teams that concern me in no order, Colts, Cowboys, Ravens, Steelers. These are some of the teams I know we have had tough games against in the past and play us tough just as tough as some of our divisional rivals. Taking a peak at the Cowboys schedule as of late they are 4-0 but have won against 2 teams that are 0-4 Miami, St Louis, 1 team thats 1-3 being Chicago and the Giants are 2-2. Speaking of Indy they have lost some good role players in the off season, and when the Patriots travel to play them at Indy it will be a huge game especially if they are both still undefeated. Unlike the Patriots they have had some closer games but also some stiffer competition. It will be an interesting season however it unfolds. As far as Rodney Harrison I think their secondary isnt as dependent on him as in the past. It just seems the last few games we have lost in the post season might have gone differently if he was healthy and on the field playing rather than banged up, just my observation. He is definalty a spark to our defense and Im glad we will have him back. Quote
JCrzy4Bass Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Bottom line. Defense wins championships... unless your the Colts! lol. But seriously the reason why the Pats are number one in power standings on NFL.com and ESPN.com is because their offense literally is unstoppable with the protection brady has on his O-line. Randy Moss is obviously undefendable with Brady back there throwing him the ball. Look at these guys on the sideline, have you seen a connection anywhere near this since Moss and Culpepper were together in Minnesotta? And I agree with you guys talking about New England's injuries. Seymour will be back soon as well as Harrisson. Between them, Samuel at the corner, bruschi and vrabel over the middle and the rest of that outstanding defense this team is the team to beat. History speaks for itself. Brady still has Peyton's number. Manning beat them once in the post season... barely. Manning chokes in the big game and he got one good win last year. The Pat's are the proven team to beat with as many bowl wins as they've had in this decade. That team has solid coaching, a solid o-line, great quarterback, depth at running back with maroney and faulk, and a great defense. New England wins it all this year... hands down. I do agree the Boys look good though and I think Romo is really coming along as a qb. Did you guys see St. Louis' defense cave on that over snapped ball? Pathetic. While Romo hasn't seen many good Defenses, neither has New England. I can't wait for that game between those two, it's gonna be awesome! That and the Green Bay/Dallas Game. I can't wait to see Favre vs. Romo. Quote
