Siebert Outdoors Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 Anyone else like this bbq sauce? I tried it about a month or 2 ago and its got to be one of the best I have ever used. Awsome stuff in my opinion. For the record I dont work for AB. I should be on thier prostaff. LOL ;) Quote
slomoe Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 nope, but I will deff. try some on my boneless pork ribs. thanks for the heads up. Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted September 21, 2007 Super User Posted September 21, 2007 Definitely a fan of that BBQ sauce. Great w/ chicken on the grill. I am on a Bull's Eye kick right now, along with SWEET BABY RAY'S!!!!!! Give that one a try sometime... Wayne Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted September 21, 2007 Author Posted September 21, 2007 The bull's eye is good but I'm not a fan of sweet baby rays. Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted September 21, 2007 Super User Posted September 21, 2007 If you are looking for a wing sauce, the Budweiser version of that is pretty good too. The color is rather radioactive looking.... Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted September 21, 2007 Author Posted September 21, 2007 Never seen that. I'll have to take a looksie. Any other good sauces out there? That Jim Beam any good? Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted September 21, 2007 Super User Posted September 21, 2007 I didnt really care for the Jack Daniels sauces, just didnt taste right to me. I have heard Stubbs makes a good sauce as well, never tried it though. Quote
slomoe Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 I had the jack Daniel last week. It was good, just seemed a little watery/thin. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted September 21, 2007 Super User Posted September 21, 2007 My pick for #1 is Gates BBQ: http://www.gatesbbq.com/ (Schnucks carries the sauce). If you visit one of their restaurants, split a "Beef-And-A-Half" and a rack of ribs. The sandwich is the Mother of All Beef Sandwiches! Gates' sauce is unique and compliments the best BBQ in the country! #2, also from KC, is the "Granddaddy of 'Em All". Arthur Bryant's is where Kansas City BBQ was born: http://www.arthurbryantsbbq.com/bbqtraditions.htm Is it possible that all three of the top BBQ restaurants in the entire world are located in Kansas City? Although I rated Gates and Arthur Bryants #1 & #2, this is the restaurant VOTED #1: Oklahoma Joe's: http://www.oklahomajoesbbq.com/ Originally located at 47th Avenue & Rainbow, in a gas station, their new restaurant in Olatha, KS redefines what a BBQ joint should be. Try either location, they ROCK! Quote

Try either location, they ROCK! I may be bias because I live in KC, but I have tried BBQ in other locations that are known for BBQ as well (Tennessee and Texas) and they were alright, but nothing better than I can get here at home. And yes RW Oklahoma Joe's is probably my favorite all-around BBQ place here. EVERYTHING is good. As far as my favorite sauce goes .... that would be Hillsdale Bank BBQ Sauce. They used to sell it just out of their restaurant, but it's now starting to expand to a few stores. I buy the half gallon jug and get it refilled every couple months or so. Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted September 21, 2007 Author Posted September 21, 2007 I'm going out to KC in about 3 weeks. I'll have to try and stop in those places RW. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted September 21, 2007 Super User Posted September 21, 2007 If you're taking a group, Oklahoma Joes is DEFINITELY the ticket. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted September 22, 2007 Super User Posted September 22, 2007 RW, aren't you from right outside of Memphis?!?! And you're saying the best BBQ places are in Kansas City!?! I've never eaten KC BBQ but I went to Rendezvous in Memphis this summer and they were the best ribs I've ever had. Quote
Clayton Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 Stubs was mentioned earlier in this thread. I love it, and its the main sauce used in my family. Quote

I've never eaten KC BBQ but I went to Rendezvous in Memphis this summer and they were the best ribs I've ever had. The Rendezvous is fantastic. My favorite is Corky's BBQ. I have family in memphis so i get to go eat BBQ up there about once a year. My relatives own Leonard's Barbecue. They have pretty good BBQ but an amazing buffet. It's got everything from spaghetti, pulled pork, catfish, key lime pie, excellent rolls and a bunch more stuff. I have to stop talking about it though, cause im starvin. Down here in GA there isnt much good bbq near me. Quote
bighed Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 Hush...........ya'll are making me hungry :'(. I'm at work with no Bah Bah Que in sight, lol. As a member of the 300+ pound club I can say I've had some great Que from all across the US. One should savor the regional differences and enjoy them all. From chopped pork sandwich with coleslaw on top in VA to pit cooked mutton in KY to slow smoked beef in Texas I've loved them all. A few favorites are Moonlite in Owensboro, KY. They put on the BBQ lovers dream buffet. Stubbs in Austin, TX for slow cooked beef brisket. Our local hole in the wall is Hutchin's BBQ in McKinney, TX. I'd put their pork ribs up against any I've ever had. Now I got to go find a napkin to wipe up this slobber! Quote

I've never eaten KC BBQ but I went to Rendezvous in Memphis this summer and they were the best ribs I've ever had. Well, I'm glad you enjoyed them, but those ain't really BBQ ribs! The meat is the cheapest cut available (referred to as "St. Louis ribs") and they are baked in an commercial oven. Corky's are worse or should I say "less consistant." I am on a Memphis In May BBQ team, The "Parrothead Porkers" of Hogaritaville. WE COOK RIBS! Slow smoked babybacks are competative ribs. The commercial ribs in Memphis just don't cut it in my book. Guest muddy Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 RW treated me,Alpster and Ron to the single finest ribs I have ever eaten , when we stopped at his house on the way to the Fork. There isn't even a close second to those ribs SIMPLY THE BEST 8-) Quote

I don't care what they were, they were great, there's a reason that FoodTV has showcased them in several shows Quote
Super User burleytog Posted September 24, 2007 Super User Posted September 24, 2007 If a sauce doesn't contain more vinegar than any other ingredient, it isn't worth eating. :-/ Quote
