When I joined this site over a year ago, I was an inexperienced fisherman who sought after the vast amount of fishing knowledge this site had to offer.  I checked with the site daily, and learned more about fishing that I ever imagined. But now, I find myself posting in the "everything else" section more often.

You see, BR started out as an information source, but It has grown into much more than that for me.  I can always turn to our members for a quick pick me up, a blast of humor, and support for the more serious things.

I have gone from posting something like "what's the best line?"( ::)) to posting about family relations, jokes and problems that I have.  I feel free to share almost anything with yall, which is definitely unique of an internet site.  I can be having a horrible day, but find relief in one of Frogtog's jokes.

BR is something really special to me.  The bottom line is...

It's a place that I can call "home"

Well said.  The site has evolved from a "fishing information" site to a "home" site for me too.  I sometimes forget about the fishing sections of BR ;D

Yea, Glenn and I were talking a few weeks back and were commenting how the site is the equivalent to many "Bass Clubs" for a lot of folks.

It's where we go to learn, share and compare.

This club is just a bit more special because it formed in virtual-ville, yet has the dedication of it's members likemit was a local club right down the street from your house.

Some of the closest people to me, right now, are from BR.

BR is a place I come to hone my skills as a fisherman, while things are slow (or maybe not so slow) at work.

I have learned SO MUCH here, from tying knots to defining water clarity in order to choose the right lure.

I can't thank BR and it's moderators enough.

So far I've found 4-5 new fishing partners up for shore fishing the Nova area who I see on a fairly regular basis. I've learned of new fishing holes and good spots to fish in the Northern Va area. I've learned how to work many different lures, which ones work better over others, and where I can find a lot of lures that aren't at my local stores. I've learned so many different techniques and really got a good grasp on the beginning stages of bass fishing (so I think). I've found some great areas in my state to fish for smallies that I never knew even existed. This place is unbelievable. The people here are always willing to help regardless how dumb a question may be (the person posting may think so). Even the videos that some people post up about how to work certain lures. I can honestly say I've addapted some styles into my fishing and tried many of the techniques I've watched these successful fishermen demonstrate.

I've got to say I honestly do believe in this place as a club as I haven't joined one yet. I appreciate the job that the mods do and the dedication of the vets and regulars that patrol this place who have been at it for years and don't mind sharing pointers. You guys are all great! I just hope one day I can be as useful and knowledgeable as you guys and help someone else learn all that I have got from this site and the people that are a part of it. Thanks so much guys.

P:s:  Even some of my best friends that I bass fish who actually showed me the ropes when I first started can't believe how well I am doing and all that I have learned.  I even have some of them asking me for ideas and stuff.  I could not have got this far (even though the progress may be minimal) without your help.  Bassresource.com ROCKS!!!

...and what makes this place what it is, is the superb quality of  your members here.  It's just hard to find more caring and friendlier people out in the world.

I've found BassResource.com to be my home away from home. i've made some incrediable friends here that are a very special group and breed of people. i've also been able to share some of my knowlegde, as well as learn from others. I like being able to ask for advise, and sometimes asking for help when needed. BassResource.com to me is one big family of fishermen, and women who can share in each others passions for bass fishing. to me theres nothing better then those i call my friends here. BassResource.com is the prefect place for a deaf guy like me to hang out with knowledgeable people in the sometimes elusive world of bass fishing.

Right on Hookem!!

This site has been such an important part of who I am now.  Like you, I first used this site more for learning new techniques, but it has become more like a club like LBH said.  I post most often in the Outings and Everything Else section.

I love how fast you get answers.  Answers that aren't one or two words, but whole paragraphs full of good info.  I just made a thread called "major dilemma" and in 24hours I've gotten some of the most imformative answers I could have asked for.

I love this site and do think of it as "home"

This ahds been a boom to my fishing. I ahve tired many things that I wouldn't have given a second thought to if I had read it in a magazine. I have talked to many people here. Even bought some stuff from some. The wealth of information is almost overwelming especially when seeking info about a distant lake. This is truly a fishing blessing.  :)

Skillet.... we will fish someday!!! Flechero.... you as well!

So many wonderful people.

But I started reading the replies and thinking of my own experience here, and ya know what?

It's a place where I can hang out with friends and cut up, talk bass fishin, hang out and did I mention cut up?

This site is the only reason I wanted a computer. This site is the best there is, I can't see how I would be able to fish as good as I do now if I wouldn't had found this site. It isn't all about fishing either, thats another reason I love it.  I have to thank the one who got me hooked on this site though. Thanks basser89! ;D

It's a great place for so many reasons....   When I first came here it was when I had shoulder surgury and was under Dr's orders no fishing for 4-6 months so I needed a way to feel like I was fishing.  BR filled the void and turned out to be so much more than a website to visit.  The Fork trip was the icing on the cake.  What a classy bunch of people.  I sincerely hope I also make the next "roadtrip" and meet even more of you.

Skillet.... we will fish someday!!! Flechero.... you as well!

So many wonderful people.

I'm only a PM away and about 3/4 of a mile.   ;D ;D   But- the next couple of weeks are tied up with bow season but when the smallies start hunting craws on the fall feed, I'll put the bow down and meet you at the ramp!!

BR is my escape from reality... because sometimes reality really really SUCKS... thanks guys for keeping me entertained... without y'all I don't know how I could cope...
