Bass XL Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 I have a bunch of them and got them from ***.com (was the only place I could find them). They are great. Put a fluke on them and there you go. Quote
Super User 5bass Posted April 20, 2008 Super User Posted April 20, 2008 Scrounger heads. They are impressing a lot of people. Aaron should have kept them a secret a little while longer. I've been resisting the urge to buy some but I can't hold out much longer. Quote
HydrillaKilla Posted April 20, 2008 Author Posted April 20, 2008 that is just what i said!!! Scrounger heads. They are impressing a lot of people. Aaron should have kept them a secret a little while longer. I've been resisting the urge to buy some but I can't hold out much longer. Quote
JigNBig Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 I live near the Coosa River where he filmed that show and most people around here already know about them and use them for both spots and largemouth. I use them and catch alot of fish w/ them but i always go back to a shaky head and crankbait/topwater for when they are schooling (i like the odds w/ 6 hooks vs. just one) Quote
kbkindle Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 kb here when they say the bill or what ever you call that plastic thing the say short-med- long what does that mean the depth a plastic goes about what depth are the talking about i know it makes a difference what you put on hook lets say a 6" zoom worm with a med jig head kb Quote

Mine are on backorder right now. Quote
Bass XL Posted April 29, 2008 Posted April 29, 2008 Will a smallmouth be enticed by them? Yes they will, I got a few smallies this weekend on one. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted April 29, 2008 Super User Posted April 29, 2008 they seem great for smallmouth. $6-9 bucks for a two pack is a little steep though. It sucks that most of the good sizes are sold out at TW right now... Quote
Zephus Posted April 29, 2008 Posted April 29, 2008 I recently got two packs (1/8 and 1/4) at another site - I can't use a link since I'm a new member. Quote
sodaksker Posted April 29, 2008 Posted April 29, 2008 Is this berkely's version of it? http://www.berkley-fishing.com/cat.php?k=74919&sk=0. Looks similar. Quote
guitarkid Posted April 29, 2008 Posted April 29, 2008 That was them, I saw them in bassin, and was wondering what they were. -searoach Quote
Bass XL Posted April 29, 2008 Posted April 29, 2008 What size would be recommended for a fluke? I use the 1/4 oz. Quote
HydrillaKilla Posted April 29, 2008 Author Posted April 29, 2008 wow that berkley looks really close to it. has anyone tried the berkleys?? Quote
LCpointerKILLA Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 Ok, say I'm using a super fluke, what would be the diving depth of the 1/4 ounce long bill and the 1/4 ounce short bill? Quote
Bass XL Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 Ok, say I'm using a super fluke, what would be the diving depth of the 1/4 ounce long bill and the 1/4 ounce short bill? It's not a diving lure. It kind of acts like a chatterbait if you know what I mean. Quote
sodaksker Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 The name of the berekly one is called the "manic shad". I bought one the other day and tried it out yesterday. Was not too impressed with it. It seemed to have very inconsistent action. On one cast it would seem to work fine, then on the next cast it would start rolling over and spinning. I played around with the "bill" a little bit but, could not seem to find any consistencies as to what caused it to roll on some casts, wiggle and vibrate on another, and then do nothing on the next. Speed of retrieve had something to do with it. It seemed like I had to get it going just right and then try to maintain that speed to keep it working. Are the scrounger heads that sensitive? Quote
