Lucky Craft Man Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 I never could understand why anyone would have such a passion for any professional, college, high school, little league, or any other team. Especially people who didn't even got that school! Sports are enjoyable to watch, but to get to the point where you grab some other guys crotch...you have got to be kidding me. I guess there isn't much else to do in some of these places where an obsession with a team is all you have (though, I shouldn't talk, because Pittsburgh is a town obsessed with the Steelers, but I've never heard of an incident where a Steelers fan ripped off the manhood of a Browns fan). Olebiker Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 Yea It's just like you don't dare walk into a bar in Knoxville with a Gators shirt on and you don't walk into a bar in Gainesville with a Vols shirt on I was at the Olive Garden in Tallahassee, the home of the Florida State Seminoles. All of the waiters are FSU students. A fellow walked in with a Gators shirt last Friday evening and sat down to wait for his wife to arrive. Another gentlemen leaned over and asked him, "You do know that these FSU students are going to be alone with your food, don't you?" A friend of mine whose family are the most diehard Texas Longhorns fans in the world recently took a job teaching meteorology at Oklahoma. I asked him what his family would think about that. "I am just telling them that it's missionary work." Quote
Olebiker Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 You've never seen a bitter rival, until you live in the state of Alabama during football season. hey i live in alabama i know all about that one ;D A buddy of mine who grew up in Alabama said that he was in Birmingham the other day. The fellow he was with pointed out that they were passing the cemetery where Bear Bryant was buried. Sid commented, "Here I was right in front of the cemetery where Bear Bryant is buried and I didn't have a suit with me." Now, that's some kind of respect. Quote

Murray Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 i guess the reason you dont see alabama on auburn violence is because weve learned to tolerate each other (to a degree) because we are always in the midst of each other. Quote
