Super User Jimzee Posted September 12, 2007 Super User Posted September 12, 2007 My God, that made me cringe after I started reading the story. Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted September 12, 2007 Super User Posted September 12, 2007 So what's the problem? Anyone dumb enough to walk into a bar in Oklahoma wearing a Longhorns shirt is begging to get his butt whipped, although castration is a little drastic. On the flip side, the same applies if you walk in to Longhorn territory wearing an OU shirt. Quote
Clayton Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 Long Mike. Do you think its okay to just go around betting people up for supporting there schools? Seems to me trash talking is good enough. It is a game, a sport and anytime violence is introduced into a rivalry I gotta ask myself, who is the dumbasx that threw the first punch. If you cant take a little trash talk and give a little of your own without loosing your head, you are a disgrace to your school. Period. It is never right. Quote
basspro48 Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 Wow, all I can think of is I don't understand!?!?!?! I mean, grabbing another man's crotch to the point of injury, this guy should be thrown in prison just for thinking about doing that. When I think of a bar fight it usually involves punches being thrown, not something this stupid, bizarre, and sick. And this all happened over a college football t-shirt, I understand that NCAA football is serious business...but never in my life would I see someone wearing a rival team's shirt and think "let me go grab his...and squeeze em til they pop, that'll teach him" some very weird people out there... Clayton Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 I wasnt trying to attack anyone, just trying to say my piece. I wear my TX stuff everywhere I go and sometimes I have to back em up a little. The place I have to defend myself most is at my girlfriends parents house. Let me tell you when her family is all ther they really give me a hard time! They are all aggies! But it is easy to defend myself against them. HAHAHA! Another one for me! Quote

Super User Root beer Posted September 13, 2007 Super User Posted September 13, 2007 You've never seen a bitter rival, until you live in the state of Alabama during football season. Quote

Personally, I enjoy betting people up. But I rarely bet more than a dollar on any game. BTW, it's "their," not "there." ;D Quote
Super User grimlin Posted September 13, 2007 Super User Posted September 13, 2007 One reason why i stay away from sports now.Fans stupidity. I was once at a bar type outing where they had the longhorn/sooner game going.Sooners beat us that year and the longhorn fans literally started a riot...every sooner fan got scratches and bruises trying to get out. It started over trash talking from the sooner side...needless to say a lot of people went to jail that night. Quote

Super User roadwarrior Posted September 13, 2007 Super User Posted September 13, 2007 I graduated from Missouri. We used to have that kind of rivalry with the Jayhawks (KU), but for the last 30 years or so, neither team has been worth fighting for! Prior to '03, Missouri hadn't beaten Nebraska in 25 years (1978). My wife and I attended that game with local Husker fans in Lincoln. The Cornhusker fans and our hosts were very nice, my wife wasn't. My wife is "Banned For Life" from Nebraska. : Quote

If this is the case then you might as well put a fence up along US 15 between Chapel Hill and Durham so that the Duke and Carolina Fans do not get to close each other, and tell the NC State fans to stay over in Raliegh. As much Duke and Carolina dislike each other at least we have enough sense and respect for the schools not act like complete redneck morons. Big T Quote
