the captain Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 I figured since we were talkin about Dale the movie we may as well get this started too and oh yeah to make things even better whats your favorite make of car like chevy or ford or whatever. Otay I like Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon so obviously I love CHEVY's cause they are a mans truck/vehicle Quote
Super User 5bass Posted September 8, 2007 Super User Posted September 8, 2007 Dale Earnhardt. The Man. The Myth. The Legend. Obviously I am in Jr's corner now. I really think his production will go up being in a Hendrick car next year. DEI seems to be falling behind in the engineering category while Hendrick is leading the charge for the Chevy's. I believe Jr. was getting tired of having inferior cars as well as his ongoing battle with Teresa. It was time to move on and he couldnt have went to a BETTER team.....although I dont care for Hendricks' current drivers. Quote

Super User Sam Posted September 8, 2007 Super User Posted September 8, 2007 Actually, I like them all with these two exceptions. Ryan Newman Jaun Carlos Montoya First two favorites are Jimmie Johnson and Carl Edwards. Saw Carl come in second in Richmond's BUSH race last night at the track. Would be going back for the Chevy Rock n' Roll 400 tonight but I have a tournament on Sunday so I am going to have to stay in a motel by the launch site and watch the Virginia Tech-LSU football game and switch back and forth between the game and race. =Matt 5.0= Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 Davey Allison :'( Been a Matt Kenseth fan since he and Jr. were battling for Rookie Of The Year. That being said, NASCAR is pretty much dead IMO. Used to go to at least one race per year...haven't been in a few years now. They are doing there best to turn away the "core" group of fans by expanding. Sounds biiter, but you saw it coming. When the announcers are sipping wine and eating cheese in California.....I'm all set. Quote
Super User Hookemdown. Posted September 8, 2007 Super User Posted September 8, 2007 That being said, NASCAR is pretty much dead IMO. I don't think so, but then again I live in AR. I don't know how it's holding up in RI My favorite driver is Mark Martin(sad to see him retiring). He's not the best driver on the track, but he has always been the best person. He's also from NE Arkansas, which is a plus. Second, I like Kasey Kahne. My cousin (who's like my role model) races dirt tracks in the AMP series and MSRA series. He's doing pretty good this year (rookie) He's been in the top 5 in points all season. I guess Kasey reminds me of him. ...and just a note. I dislike Montoya Quote

The influx of Toyota....Gibbs switching to Toyota, Dale Jr without the #8, the list goes on and on. I'll stick with the fastest show on the planet, NHRA Drag Racing. Quote
Super User cart7t Posted September 8, 2007 Super User Posted September 8, 2007 Actually, I like them all with these two exceptions. Ryan Newman Jaun Carlos Montoya Who? I don't watch much Nascar. I've tuned in to races in the past to watch OW guys to see how they're doing. Obviously Tony Stewart is always a kick to watch. Mr. Lunkhead himself, Robby Gordon. and now, that Jaun Carlos guy..... ;D JPM was a hoot to watch in F1. He was one of the very few guys that would ever put a wheel to Herr Schumacher. When he came over from F1 as a test guy for Williams and joined Chip Ganassi's race team I thought of him as something of an F1 p***k. Then I watched his in-car camera when he was running some his first ovals in CART. He didn't seem to get it at first but man, did he have some of the fastest hands as far as car control I've ever seen. If he hangs around long enough he'll definitely win some races besides the road courses. He is a very good driver. Capable of beating anyone in Nascar. Quote

Murray Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 absouluty hate nascar.... to watch the best drivers in the world actually drive skillfully F1 is the best. my favorite f1 driver is lewis hamilton. Quote

Super User roadwarrior Posted September 10, 2007 Super User Posted September 10, 2007 Anyone other than "Crybaby" Jeff Gordon or Tony Stewart! Interesting. Not my favs, but probably the two "best drivers" in NASCAR, Cup Champions and two of the three most popular racers in the sport right now. Different strokes for different folks. Quote

stilldontlikeyou Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 I'm a Kasey Kahne fan, and its been a rough year :-/ My wife and her family are Jr fans. I don't hate Jr, but I don't like him either. Seems like NASCAR has just really gone down hill this year, at least football season is back...Here We Go Steelers Here We GO!!!! Quote

llPa1nll Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 Im a big Jeff Burton and Mark Martin fan. I was really into it when he was driving the 99 exide battery car. Then Roush racing gave him the cold shoulder and he seems to be doing allot better now with a new team and sponser. I just wished Mark could have driven a full season since he had a nice lead at the start of this year. Burton is in the chase so I'll still root for him. Quote

I completly agree with RW on this one. The 24, 48, and 20 are not my favorites, but it seems to me that people either love these guys or hate these guys. All I see is three very good drivers. Quote
Olebiker Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 Carl Edwards is my favorite. If Junior drove a Ford he would be my favorite driver. He is a good connection to NASCAR's roots. I have liked Kasey Kahne ever since his rookie year when Tony Stewart tried to push him around and he wouldn't back down. I can't stand Tony Stewart's whining and blaming everyone else for his mistakes when he makes them. I don't see how Robbie Gordon gets anyone to sponsor him. He is the biggest jerk I have ever seen in a race car. I'm going to put my Nomex suit on before I type this: I was never a Dale Sr. fan. To me, he was just a dirty driver. The Intimidator should have been called The Bully. Quote
