Super User cart7t Posted September 5, 2007 Super User Posted September 5, 2007 Some of you have seen the warning on the flea market board concerning dealing with a person that goes by a couple different handles at 2 other forums. I posted the warning here in case that person may be a member since I had no way to search for him otherwise. Today, 5 days shy of 2 months after sending this guy the money for the Calcutta reels, they finally arrived. Most important, I want to give a big shout out to a couple of Pennsylvania members here who offered their assistance to help me get my money or my reels. That's the Muddy man himself and PA_Bass_Man. Both guys offered to go way above and beyond in order to help me. Kudo's to both of you and I'll be sending both of you PM's shortly. This is a great forum. This occurred at another forum and members here were willing to help. I posted the warning so no one would get shafted by this guy either here, if he's a member, or anywhere else. After posting these warnings at this forum and a couple others, it turns out this is not the first time someone's had a problem with this guy. Again. Thanks for all the offers of assistance. This is truely a great place to be. Quote
Super User Raul Posted September 5, 2007 Super User Posted September 5, 2007 Look at it on the bright side, 5 days short of two months is not bad at all considering they were shipped by snail ........ arthritic snail. Quote

Actually, the reels were shipped overnight, FedEx yesterday. To my knowledge this was the only time he actually sent the reels despite numerous promises that he had shipped them before. Quote
fish-fighting-illini Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007 Where did his name and stuff go? was that in a different thread? It should stay here 2 months is way beyond anyone's expectations. We aren't bashing the guy just posting the facts. People can read and make up their own minds whether they want to deal with him. I'm thinking of making my own personal ( for me only ) list of sellers not to deal with just as a reminder to cover my butt. Quote
frogtog Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007 It would be a good idea to post there names to protect our members. Quote

I'm thinking of making my own personal ( for me only ) list of sellers not to deal with just as a reminder to cover my butt. The original post is a warning in the Flea market board. I listed his other handles he uses at 2 other forums in case someone here goes over there. I don't know for sure that he's a member here. I have no way to search that info and if he is, he might be using a different screen name here. From the PM's I've received from others concerning their dealings with him I've come to this conclusion. If you're trying to sell something to him his payment will be s-l-o-o-o-w in coming, if it comes at all. If you're buying, the product will be equally slow in coming or in a couple cases like mine and one other, you'll wonder if this guy will ever ship it to you at all. He's used the excuse "I accidently mailed it to myself" on a few occasions. He comes off as a nice guy but is difficult to get ahold of when you're trying to pin him down on mailing dates, tracking numbers, method of shipment, etc. Quote
Panamoka_Bassin Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007 Sounds pretty slippery to me, who ever he is. Those reels better be in pristine condition! Thanks for the heads up! Quote
Bob Kavanaugh Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 Yeah, were the reels at least in good shape? It's a shame that some people are like that, and give dealing over the internet a bad reputation. I've been lucky so far (knock on wood), but that's not to say it couldn't happen to anyone. BTW... I'm loving that finesse reel I bought off of you 8-) Quote
Super User cart7t Posted September 8, 2007 Author Super User Posted September 8, 2007 Yeah, were the reels at least in good shape? They were in unbelievable shape. I was shocked. I half expected some frames with the guts missing. ;D Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 Leave it go don't get like me and let a whole lotta people rent space in your head. One of us on these forums is enough AND THATS MY JOB Quote
