Siebert Outdoors Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 Who is going to win? I'm going wit the Colts The winners win a prize.*** *** To laugh at the losers ;D Quote
Super User senile1 Posted September 4, 2007 Super User Posted September 4, 2007 This should be a great game if both teams play to their potential. Indy lost some defenders this year, so I'm going with the Saints, Gman. Quote

Super User FishTank Posted September 4, 2007 Super User Posted September 4, 2007 The Colts will destroy the Saints. I look for Manning to pass for about 400 yards and Addai will get over 100 yards rushing. If anything will hurt the Colts Thursday, it will be special teams. Quote
Bizzo Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 Colts dominate: Indianapolis 42 Saints 17 Same score, but in reverse ;) ;D ;D Quote
Super User Catt Posted September 5, 2007 Super User Posted September 5, 2007 WHO DAT Saints by 7 8-) Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted September 5, 2007 Super User Posted September 5, 2007 Saints by 3. Manning makes me nervous. Quote
Super User Sam Posted September 5, 2007 Super User Posted September 5, 2007 Will be pulling for the Saints to win, as always. I am not a "Manning" fan. I saw father Archie play for Ole Miss and the Saints. He is a nice guy and a great family man. Not a great football quarterback. I understand why Peyton did not attend LSU with Archie's Ole Miss background. But why Tennessee? Why not Tulane? And LSU did not need Eli for a QB when he came along so he went to Ole Miss and has the record that in the biggest play in the history of Ole Miss football he fell on his ***! LSU 17 Ole Miss 14 and then onto the Sugar Bowl to defeat Oklahoma for the Fighting Tigers' second National Championship. And the oldest son got injured playing for Ole Miss so you do not hear about him. So although I am a Johnny Unitas fan of the BALTIMORE COLTS I just cannot be for the Indy 500 Colts or any of the Mannings. I think the Mannings are over rated and the only championship won by any of the four guys was 1) Tennessee's SEC title and 2) the last Super Bowl for Peyton. Otherwise, the guys are not winners. Saints may not win but with their running game it should be an interesting game. Run up the score, Saints! Quote
Super User Catt Posted September 5, 2007 Super User Posted September 5, 2007 Elisha Archibald Manning III Holds the Ole Miss record for total career touchdowns at 56. He also ran for 823 yards and threw for 4,753 and scored 14 touchdowns. College Football Hall of Fame-1989 All-Sec-1969, 1970 Walter Camp Award-1969 NFL Most Valuable Player- 1978 NFL Offensive Player of the Year- 1969 Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame-1989 In 1972 he led the league in pass attempts and completions, and led the NFC in passing yards Completed 2,011 of 3,642 passes for 23,911 yards and 125 touchdowns, with 173 interceptions. He also rushed for 2,197 yards and 18 touchdowns. His 2,011 completions ranked 17th in NFL history. All of that while playing for the worst team in the NFL history Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted September 5, 2007 Super User Posted September 5, 2007 I think the Mannings are over rated Sam, Not trying to rain on your parade, but if thats your basis and conclusion of the Mannings, granted, Eli hasn't done much, but Peyton has been nothing short of spectacular. There isn't a QB out there that can duplicate his play from the line of scrimage. And the loyalty that Archie showed a city that never was a contender is one that should be used as an example for others to remember. The examples that the Mannings have shown and set are the kind of players I want to play in the NFL. Hookem Matt PS, There are tons of guys who never win a championship, and I never confuse character with championships, Quote
Troutfisher Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 I predict the Colts winning by a big margin. I'll go with 38-14. Saints can't hold up to the reigning Super Bowl Champs. The Colts have been in the playoffs the past few years and consistently have a good team. All this, and I'm not even a Colts fan, I'm a Steelers fan, so no bias. Quote
tallydude Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007 The Saints are going to win this game. Too many offensive weapons and a revamped defense. You've got Deuce McAllister AND Reggie Bush going against the front 4 of Indy. Peyton and Co. will score some points, but I see a score of 27-24 with New Orleans making a statement. Quote
Fisher of Men Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007 Sam, I just don't know how you can be so down on the Manning's, but that's your opinion (liking LSU doesn't help; I have a hard time liking ANY player from UT ). I guess I can't completely put a nail down on how I feel about them (their character), but you can't ignore the fact that Peyton is one of the best (if not the best) QB's in the league right now (Eli, on the other hand. . . well). I do like the Colt's because I respect Tony Dungy and his character. I like a coach who seems to control his emotions and does not feel he has to cuss and yell at his players like some lunatic. I think the Colts will prevail in this early season game (only by a touchdown, though). I don't think they'll rack off a streak of 12 or so wins this year. Somebody will knock them off in the first six games, but I do see a total 12-win season in their future this year. Just my .02, Fisher <>< Quote
Super User FishTank Posted September 7, 2007 Super User Posted September 7, 2007 It's officially a spanking......... . Jason David before: Jason David after: Go Colts... Quote
Super User Catt Posted September 7, 2007 Super User Posted September 7, 2007 Some one call Shawn Payton as soon as you find the Saints :'( Oh yea the Manning's are over rated Quote
Pond Hopper Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 Some one call Shawn Payton as soon as you find the Saints :'( Oh yea the Manning's are over rated I am sorry not only is he the best QB/game manager in the league but the guy is a GREAT ROLE MODEL! If the NFL/NBA/MBL was full of these type of guys kids would have much better role models. Quote
Super User FishTank Posted September 7, 2007 Super User Posted September 7, 2007 Did anybody see Mellancamp before the game? He sang "Small Town" and added the line "My wife was 13 when I wrote this song." You gotta love that guy. ;D Quote
Super User Sam Posted September 7, 2007 Super User Posted September 7, 2007 OK, so the Mannings are great. For the game, although I am pulling for the Saints, I can see the Colts 41 and the Saints 10. Quote
Troutfisher Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 41 to 10 final score. That Colts offense was outstanding last night. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted September 7, 2007 Super User Posted September 7, 2007 Colts dominate: Indianapolis 42 Saints 17 Pretty close. I guess I gave the Saint's offense too much credit. : Quote
JCrzy4Bass Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 It wasn't the offense. Yes there run defense looked solid for once.. and I regret starting duece instead of julius jones in my fantasy this week. But it was Jason David who got beat on all three long touchdowns. His adjusting to the man to man defense isnt working so well, he was two steps behind wayne and harrison all night. As soon as they made their cut and ran up field he was done. Drew Brees was forcing stuff against their pass defense. But what do you expect when the other team is up by 3 or more scores? The colts only gave him underneath and made him try and force stuff in. Not the game I expected, except for the first half which actually seemed like a good matchup. Not the Drew Brees I know though as far as decision making skills. Crazy man. Quote
