Super User David P Posted August 30, 2007 Super User Posted August 30, 2007 I thought maybe I could go my entire life without one, but now just before turning 20, I have my first cavity. I hate needles, I hate people working on my teeth and being in my mouth, and I hate the noise of all the tools. What do I do!?! Any good advice to making having a cavity filled, at least bearable? preach4bass Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 I was in the same boat you're in, not having a cavity until I was in my 20s, and scared of dentists. My dentist asked me if I wanted gas. I asked him what gas would do for me and he told me that it would make me not care what was happening. He was right. My suggestion...take the gas! If your dentist dosn't offer it to you ask him for it. Quote
frogtog Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 Man they have all kinds of good stuff now. Most Dentist can sedate you and you want even know what went on. Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted August 30, 2007 Super User Posted August 30, 2007 I hope you don't come out with braces, or the wrong tooth filled or pulled. Is your dentist licensed? Is he an alcoholic? I'm sure you will be fine. I hope he doesn't get the shakes when he drills that cavity out. Quote

I had my 1st cavity at 18 and only two since, I'm 40 now. I HATE the dentist but having a cavity filled is nothing to worry about........unless your dentist has the shakes.......okay, I'll quit..... Super User David P Posted August 30, 2007 Author Super User Posted August 30, 2007 I just got back from the dentist. Took 40 Minutes, 4 shots, and a lot of drilling. He said it was much deeper then he had though, and that the xray had show. Just my luck! I got laughing gas though, so I was pretty careless to anything around me, and listened to music, making it not too bad at all. Quote
