mpharris1989 Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 in a local pond close to my house the baitfish mostly seem to be tilapia, so i was wondering if anybody on this site new of any kind of crankbait that resembles a tilapia? thanks Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted May 4, 2008 Super User Posted May 4, 2008 You don't really need a match the hatch bait . Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted May 5, 2008 Super User Posted May 5, 2008 You don't really need a match the hatch bait . I disagree with you. using a bait that resembles what bass are eating in the lake will always work. Here's a tilapia swimbait. http://www.***.com/descpageSWIMTRUTUNG-TTSB.html# Quote

I also strongly disagree with Bass-Brat's opinion that matching the hatch isn't necessary. Imitating local baitfish gives you one more advantage on the bass. I'm not sure if there is a tilapia colored crankbait out there. If I were you, I would get a few of my favorite baits and send them to someone to get custom painted. That way, it matches the tilapia perfectly, and you have confidence in the crankbait your throwing. Quote
