Sorry... didn't mean for the post to turn into a maelstrom. I found a pretty good website that lists USA made fishing rod, reel and tackle companies, which you can find with their search engine by typing "fishing rods", "fishing reels", etc.

Falcon Rods are made in the United States, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

In my opinion it is very ignorant to lump all things manufactured in America as junk. Especially when you are talking about automobiles. I read on yahoo the other day that Toyota issued more recalls than any other auto manufacturer in 2007. Japanese automakers have entered a new market now, the full size truck and SUV market, and now that they are building powerful V8 engines and larger vehicles, their technology has been no better than the American automakers. Toyota is having major camshaft issues with their new Tundra, and they had suspension and ball joint issues with their large SUV's, Nissan had wiring harness issues while underload and wiring was setting on fire. You can not base reliability on American or non American like some of you have, a smart buyer will research the market and purchase a vehicle that meets their own needs. For me I have owned three ford pickups, a 1967 Ford that had an old carburated big block v8 in it, ran like a dream on 8mpg, but it started and ran when it needed too. A 1990 ford f-150 same thing 302 with over 100,000 miles, it leaked ever fluid but ran 70mph with a boat behind it and never missed a beat. The new truck is a 2001 ford f-150, again no problems towing the boat and no mechanical issues besides it having a recall on cruise control. No manufacturing is flawless when it is produced by the thousands and even millions.

CAN ANY OF YOU GUYS READ> Man if you were lawyers you would blow every case! I never said forigien , Japanese or domestic I SAID CARS TODAY ARE BETTER THAN THOSE OF YESTERDAY Go back, take the time to read what I wrote and respond to that , not what you think I said. My last 3 cars/trucks  have been CHRYSLER<CHRYSLER and currently a Chevy>

Toyota would probablly lead in recalls: They sold the most cars of any Company last year, and have been close to the top for years, so it stands a good chance of the most recalls. Also I hate to tell you guys this: A lot of the parts in "domestic cars" are made overseas. But I never said ( pay attention Bass Pro and Concieted Red neck) That forigien were better than domestic, GEEZZZ!!!!!!!!!

Calm down muddy, who said i was talking directly to you? I was talking about the foreign-domestic argument.  Don't criticize my ability to read when you are obviously having a hard time spelling.

I'm all for buying American made products.  However, from what I've been hearing on the radio, reading in the newspapers, and seeing on TV lately, buy everything fishing related from American companies...EXCEPT LEAD WEIGHTS.  Buy all your lead weights from Japan, they're good at putting lead in their products ;D :D

For those of you who haven't figured it out, my spelling is horrible because i have a type of dyslexia, I invert some letters and do not know when some words end, a lot of times I see several words as one. AND I HAVE A 3.83 INDEX IN COLLEGE, not bad for a 58 year old ex street bum. The hard part about typing is I can type faster than the exercises I had to learn in order to read and write correctly, I make no excuses for this it is just as I am.

BASS PRO. When you jump in a thread , right after me and the discussion is about ( not originally) cars somehow, it is a pretty safe presumption you were answering what came before it. I admit my spelling and sentence structure is horrible, you need to read and think before you answer something

Hey brother, I have dyslexia, too.  I sometimes invert letters and short words.

At one time in my life I was also an avowed agnostic.

Do you have any idea how much time I spent trying to figure out if there really was a D O G ?
