Low_Budget_Hooker Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 There a new list out called "super foods" During the explanation, they said that not all fish have Omega 3's, the well known cholesterol fighter. They said that the omega 3 rich fish are the cold water fish, salmon, tuna, trout, halibut, etc. NOT WARM WATER SPECIES, i.e. bass I thought this was interesting and may be useful to some folks who are fighting high cholesterol with a fish rich diet. Low_Budget_Hooker Posted August 22, 2007 Author Posted August 22, 2007 No Muddy, I believe that may be the model # of that reel,...but to answer your question Catt, distend line from inside and attach other end to a salmon. Retract line and consume fish. Quote
Super User Raul Posted August 22, 2007 Super User Posted August 22, 2007 I take pills and I 'm on a restricted diet, which is rather absurd me on a diet considering I 'm 5 '9" tall and weight 110 lbs :. No saturated fat for me which means no pork meat, no ham, no bacon, no egg yolk, no salami, no chicken skin, no animal entrails, no shellfish, not all types of cheese; only super lean beef, skin free chicken meat and fish. In other words, all the stuff I like to eat is off limits. > Quote

justfishin Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Raul, on your next doctor visit ask him about Omacor. Each capsule provides 1gr of Omega 3 Acid. I take two a day. The company is Reliant. The drug reps give us this stuff all the time and it has become popular with some of the local physicians here. Quote

I take those JF, but I still have to take pills to lower my cholesterol levels or they sky rocket to the point of instead having blood circulating around my body I get oil :-X ( kinda like a hydraulic system ;D ) and I 'm only 43 years old. Now let 's look at it on the bright side, I discovered I had high cholesterol two years ago one morning I felt dizziness, at first I thought it was related to my ear, after 3 days more of me getting drunk every time I moved my head I decided to take a visit to the doctor, since my family has a history of heart realted conditions I went to the cardiologist, he checked me and ordered some blood tests, that 's when we discovered I had dangerously high cholesterol levels considering my family 's medical history; the dizziness was a warning from the Allmighty of what may come in the future, better getting dizziness than a massive heart attack like my father, he was 49 and his heart attack was so severe that he almost left me and my sister orphans ( I was 7 and my sis was 5 ), he stayed 2 months in the hospital and it took almost a year before he could work again. My kids are simply too young ( lil Raul is 4 and Olga is about to be 3 ) for me to die on them, so I take my pills, follow my diet strictly and have my blood tests every 3 months. Quote
Super User .ghoti. Posted August 23, 2007 Super User Posted August 23, 2007 After my recent incident, I'm on the low fat, no salt, high carb diet. Probably for the rest of my life. I've had to eliminate a lot of things that I previously enjoyed. It's a good thing I like tuna and salmon. A guy could get really sick of skinless chicken. I'm really gonna miss bacon. Cheers, GK Quote
