I am voting for a 3 year suspension.  This is based on the serious nature of the crime as well as the gambling and racketering issues that are involved.

I also think that this will effectively end his career, without the NFL "officially" ending it for him.

Of course, I have no idea what the collective bargining agreement states as well as the NFL policy states.

I am a big Falcons fan and I don't think Vick will ever be allowed to play again. Do I like it? Not at all. But he did it and he is now suffering the consequences

Fluke's right.  As I mentioned in another Vick post, if you can't do the time, don't do the crime.  Unless you're Snoop Dogg, or a rich celebrity who has enough money to avoid the law.

I think a two year suspension AFTER his prison term should be sufficient. He's probably all done, though. A team would have to be crazy to endure the PR nightmare that would follow to sign a marginal quarterback, at best.

Found guilty in court he should never play again.

Same standing I have on

any felony

drugs

steriods

cheating

etc.

These athletes are role models and should be acting like one.

I pick one year suspension after his prison term is up.

Hey, jamal lewis went to jail for selling dope and came back to play again. :o

Drug is serious expecially with athlete.

Larusa (correct my spelling) the manager of cardinal baseball team got arrested for drunk driving and he still coaching. And your telling me vick doesn't deserve a second chance?

Now, I personally dont think vick that good at football, I dont think he best and blah blah, but I'm just saying do whats right, if those guys got another chance so should vick. It a tangle web we weave.

LaRussa had a cleaner slate than anyone in sports. That was a stupid mistake that he was truely sorry for. It was just a one time thing and he wasnt that high over the limit anyways.

As a falcons fan, i would like to thank vick for ruining this season and next. The Falcons were built to win a championship in the next to years and he was the main weapon and everything was centered around him. He is never playing for the falcons again and that is for sure. He is a sick person but i still think he will only get a one year suspension after jail. I think he should get a 3 year suspension but that wasnt what the question asked.

I think he'll play again. After prison he'll get a suspension and after that I'd think someone would take a chance on him. He'd be only 30-31 and have potential. I can't see every single team shunning him.

THe only question is..after prison and suspension is up..will he still be in great shape like he once was? I mean he might be stronger with being in prison and all, but what about his speed and quickness?

I never thought vick was that good, but hey if you want kick vick out, you better kick out pacman, jamal lewis, and blah blah.

That all I'm saying. That'll set a better example for rest of athletes. It not fair if one athletes get in butt-load of trouble and still gets to play while another gets ban.

It's a bit crazy to me that we have 2 murderers playing in the NFL and no one seems to care, yet Vick allegedly kills some dogs (he has not necessarily admitted to all allegations in the indictment yet) and everyone wants him banned for life.

My opinion is they should wait to make a decision until he's served his time and we see what direction he takes his life in. If he does his time and gets out after his 85% time served on good behavior, joins forces with the PETA freaks or the Humane Society and truly shows remorse and tries to make a change for the better, then I think 1 year is enough. If he comes out worse off than when he went in or seems completely unaffected by the whole ordeal, then go ahead and give him 3 years to life.

I think Vick want be available to play until at least 2010.       If Vick attempts to make a paycheck when he's cleared, I don't see him as a starter at QB ever again.    I think QB is a ongoing learning curve and his skills are gonna get rusty from lack of reading coverage and the speed of the game.

I do see Vick as special teamer and receiver.

I know I wouldn't want that kind of press on my team if Vick is allowed to play again.

I'm tired of hearing about Vick already, he's on every sports news station.   Lets bury him and the story as soon as possible.

Let the season begin!!!!!!

Oakland Raiders

The NFL definitely needs to clean up its act. With the Vick case and Pacman case and other past cases they need a stricter behavior/enforcement policy. If these people can take the money, fame, and sponsorships that they so desperately seek then they should act like a respectable "Law Abiding" citizen. That or the NFL will find itself in the court of public opinion trying to save its image.

I think that is what Commish Goddell is emphasizing during the early years of his rein.  I certainly don't want to see the NFL become what the NBA appears to be.
