J-Boogie Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 So thanks all you guys who pointed me in the direction to buy the symetre 2500FI for a spinning reel. It seemed to be great the 1 time i got to use it. Some hood stole it out of my truck last night.Bad thing is,i had the 5500C3 on a shimano 99$ rod next to it and they left that one. I guess he liked the Gold trim on the symetre or didnt know how to cast the abu. Oh well,i guess he needed it worse than me. Being disabled on a limited income makes you miss equipment more once its gone huh. Maybe ill find another one on sale somewhere :'( Richmond,Ky Quote
Super User Raul Posted August 11, 2007 Super User Posted August 11, 2007 Firts time is their fault, next time is your fault, never leave your gear in the vehicle. Quote
Fendercaster Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 I'm sorry to hear that, I've had stuff stolen and it's no fun. I hope you're able to replace it soon and get back to fishing! Quote
justfishin Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 God I hate a thief with a passion. I remember years ago my fishing partner and I were fishing a Tourney on Lake Kerr in Va. He dumped me in the water and the boat just went zinnnnnng and would not go anywhere. We pulled it out and the SS prop was missing. It turned out that some other guys props were gone as well. Prop lock was the answer. Dude, that sucks. Quote
bass109 Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 just wrong > try buying a ungly stick with a cheaper reel. Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted August 12, 2007 Super User Posted August 12, 2007 I disagree with Raul. The first time it's your fault, and every time thereafter. Never, Ever leave your gear in the boat or in your car/truck. Quote

Never, Ever leave your gear in the boat or in your car/truck. Yep, I'm paranoid about it to the point of OCD. If I'm meeting someone at the ramp, the only thing I leave in my vehicle is a set of tools stowed in the jack compartment. When I'm pulling my boat, I won't stop where I can't keep my eye on the boat. If I have to, someone always stays with the boat. Quote
skillet Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 Being paranoid really is a help (sometimes ;D). Time to put in a call to a business associate of mine, Guido and his knee capping partner :... As Ever, skillet Quote

I guess we all learn from mistakes Quote

Bladesmith, Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 You only have to be right ONE time to make a lifetime of paranoia worthwhile. Quote
Cephkiller Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 You only have to be right ONE time to make a lifetime of paranoia worthwhile. Wow. That's very poignant, yet seriously depressing :'( Quote
Taliesin Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 Just because you are paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you. Quote
