bassassinator Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 I am not sure I came to the right place to post. :-/ I have been put in charge of motel reservations for the Federation tourney in October. They told me to get the reservations at Point Breeze Resort but they must be out of business so I am trying to find another motel close to PB2. I am not familier at all with the area. I cannot even find a map that has"PB2" listed. Can any of you LOZ folks please help me be a hero? :-[ Quote
Super User Hookemdown. Posted August 8, 2007 Super User Posted August 8, 2007 What is PB2 and where is LOZ? Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted August 9, 2007 Super User Posted August 9, 2007 Quote loz is lake of the ozarks in missouri, Yea, Don't you know anything???????? hahahaha Quote
Super User cart7t Posted August 9, 2007 Super User Posted August 9, 2007 ;D PB2 is short for Public Beach #2. It's been called that for so long I can't even remember when it wasn't called that. If you have a lake map it's now called the Grand Glaize Receation area. It's off of Hwy 54 in Osage beach. There are numerous hotels on Hwy 54 along with some resorts close to PB2. Here's a few off the top of my head Town and Country Hotel. On the highway, no dock or ramp facilities. Electric for boat hookups. Kapilana Resort. About 3 miles by water from PB2, docks and ramp. Edgewater Beach Resort. Ramp and docks. Golden Door. On the highway, no ramp or docks. Boat parking with electric. Kalfran Lodge. A little further from PB2. Large resort with ramp and docks. Sherwood resort. Right at the Grand Glaize bridge. Very cheap but the place is a dive. Free boat slip at Bridgewater marina. Hope they turn the electric on for ya and wait till you see the ramp and the walk from the marina to the resort! Paradise cove. I think this place is still in business. Smaller with ramp and docks. Close to PB2 Temple resort. I think they're still in business. Ramp with dock. Probably the closest to PB2. Sunset Beach Resort. Not exactly close to PB2 but in Osage beach. They do cater to fishermen. There's also Robins resort but I think they're trying to cater to an upper scale clientele. Lazy Days condominiums is right next to PB2 but they can be pricey. There are a number of other Condo complexes that rent but they can get pricey. Hawks Nest is one that comes to mind. Sadly, as has been the case at LOZ for the past 10 years, resorts have been getting bulldozed by the developers for condo complexes so there are few left. Good luck. Quote
bassassinator Posted August 9, 2007 Author Posted August 9, 2007 WOW! Thanks for the info. I will look some of these up. "Sherwood resort. Right at the Grand Glaize bridge. Very cheap but the place is a dive. " How bad is it? None of us are snobby upper class but we like a good bed and a mostly clean room. Cheap is a + as we will be there 4 nights! Quote

The owners are a tad quirky. The resort is right above Bridgeport Marina and the rooms at that time a year will probably run from $45-55 a night and you get a free boat slip at the Marina. Now the bad. The place is something of a dump although the rooms were clean enough. The boat ramp at the marina??? Well, it's interesting to say the least, something of an obstacle course. The free boat slip? Hopefully they remember to leave the electricity on, I'd suggest bringing a couple hundred feet of extension cords as a backup. Oh, and the walk from the dock up to the resort will fulfill your cardio vascular exercise needs for the week. ;D Quote
