Daniel My Brother Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Tragic accident in Oklahoma. A five year old boy shot to death by a cop trying to kill a snake. I can't imagine what that family is going through right now. http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D8QRHTA00&show_article=1 Quote
Super User Hookemdown. Posted August 6, 2007 Super User Posted August 6, 2007 That's horrible. Prayers to the family. Quote
G3 Fan Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Man, that is horrible. I can't imagine how that family feels. I'm surprised a police officer would even shoot a snake. Not that I condone shooting snakes, but wouldn't a shotgun have been a more appropriate weapon? Quote
FishingBuds Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Oh, man! thats bad > I'd loose it, I'd been in jail. Serve and protect-surely he knew of the dangers of the background before firing a weapon :-? Or did he not know the surroundings???????? As a citizen your responsible to know your back ground before you fire a weapon. Sad accident but, he has a duty to know safety, wow thats very bad > Anger > I'd lost it for sure Man-prayers for the family :'( Quote
frogtog Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Man that is bad. My prayers go out to the family and the cop. He has something to live with for the rest of his life. Quote
Cigarlover 1 Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 That's just horrible. Seems so senseless. Thoughts and prayers go out to the family. Quote
Captain Underpants Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 I'm not against shooting snakes but why shoot it out of the tree in the first place? If it was poisonous and somebody was up there too, well okay, but just shooting into a tree not knowing what was a ways behind the tree... My prayers are with the boys family. (How happy the boy would be if he could throw his lure as far as some people can throw the bull.) Quote
Valascus Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Wow...I am with you Buds...I would lose it and probably go completely berserk. I feel so bad them...the boy was probably tickled to death to just go out fishing with his grandpa...and likewise for the boys grandpa. :-/ The police officer should have known beter than to fire his weapon without taking a very thorough inspection of the surroundings and warning anyone in the area that he was going to fire his weapon. It was a freak accident, but is still about as tragic as it gets. :'( Thoughts and prayers to all affected by these events... Quote
justfishin Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 I cannot even fathom something like that happening to my granddaughter. It would just kill me. My heart to the family. So very sad. :'( Quote
