Bassboy15 Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Ya, I saw that on the news, did anyone die? Quote
Super User Hookemdown. Posted August 2, 2007 Super User Posted August 2, 2007 Terrible tragedy. Prayers are on their way. http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/08/02/bridge.collapse/index.html?section=cnn_latest Quote
justfishin Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Dude, I saw a report that a few years ago they did a over all study of the bridges in the US and 60% were rated as poor because of the increased traffic we have now. Its just another bullet in my belt concerning my opinion of, its nice to be the good guy and help the world but, its time time to take care of ourselves for awhile. We need to reastablish our priorities and I hope the next administration has the same point of view. This is just my opinion. Quote
jeremyt Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Truly a tragedy. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families. Quote

Guest ncbass24 Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Life seems to be going on just fine, and then crap like this happens. What a terrible tragedy. Quote
Troutfisher Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 I heard about this last night...prayers to the families. :'( Quote
Bizzo Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Thanks guys, I live in Minneapolis and work less than 5 miles from the bridge. I tell you, it is just surreal around here right now. No one can believe it. They are saying that the death toll could easily be 30 before its all said and done. My father in law also has a coworker with a connection to someone who was on the phone on the bridge when it collapsed, the phone went dead and he is still missing. Keep the prayers coming, I am praying with you. Quote
dumb_dog11 Posted August 3, 2007 Posted August 3, 2007 wasnt it in Minnosota not mississippi? i only know about it cause the royals game was cancelled, but what i did hear about it was that it was a pretty bad accident. Thats a shame Quote
Super User Hookemdown. Posted August 3, 2007 Super User Posted August 3, 2007 Yes it was in Minnesota, but the bridge fell into the Miss. river. It's a miracle that there isn't a larger death toll. Prayers still being sent. Quote

The Osama's won't have to destroy our infrastructure. If we don't start rebuilding the levees, and bridges, etc. we'll destroy ourselves from sheer neglect. Quote
gopherbass Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 I don't think a "poor" rating means collapse is imminent. Quote
Guest avid Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 I don't think a "poor" rating means collapse is imminent. Well then I guess that "poor" rating was a pretty poor rating indeed. Quote
