justfishin Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 ----------"When it comes time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Guest avid Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Though wise men at their end know dark is right, Because their words had forked no lightning they Do not go gentle into that good night. Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay, Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight, And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way, Do not go gentle into that good night. Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay, Rage, rage against the dying of the light. And you, my father, there on the sad height, Curse, bless me now with your fierce tears, I pray. Do not go gentle into that good night. Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Dylan Thomas Quote

Guest SkyChimp Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 A couple of my favorite words of wisdom What is man without the beasts? If all the beasts were gone, man would die from a great loneliness of spirit. For whatever happens to the beasts, soon happens to man. All things are connected. --Chief Seattle "The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quiet, alone with the heavens, nature and God." -- Anne Frank Quote
justfishin Posted August 1, 2007 Author Posted August 1, 2007 Avid, I am amazed that you put a Dylan Thomas poem in. He is one of my favorites. I used to get angry in school about his poetry. Its always seemed so fragmented but, I found out it wasn't him, it was the reader. He had a solid grasp of the English lanquage that was on a way higher level than most. He was pretty amazing for a high school drop out and full blown drunk. RIP Louisa May Alcott quote- "I am not afraid of storms for I am learning how to sail my ship." The older you get, the more sense this famous quote makes. Quote
