Super User Matt Fly Posted July 5, 2007 Super User Posted July 5, 2007 Dang Matt I just realized we spent 8 hours fishing & not once did we talk football I like watching 1-A or 1-AA as long as it's not one sided; one of the best games of last year was Boise State vs. Oklahoma Since you had the back of the boat, and a good look at my motor, I was sure you'd have commented on football. Â Â Â Team Hookem!!!!! I havent' even looked at UT's schedule this year, I know we travel to Ohio State early this year. Â So our season could start the way it did last season with early loss. Â Â Â I knew with the loss of Vince and others, beating OSU, even at home would be tall order. Â Â Â Â Â Â I get to see if our sophmore QB is seasoned enough to make UT contender, not too mention that our secondary was SWISS CHEESE last year. Â Â Once teams learned they could pass on Texas, they did, and very often. NFL Hall of Fame Game is less than a month away, so that mean NCAAF isn't far away either. Can't wait!!!!!! Â NCAAF is one of the puriest games played. Hookem Matt. Quote

Hey rival.com had a vote going on what is most hated rival in Amaerica. It was like Ohio State vs Michagain, Alabama vs Auburn, Notre dame vs USC, and I think last one might have Texas vs Okalahoma. Alabama vs Auburn was voted most hated rivaly. Quote
Super User Catt Posted July 7, 2007 Super User Posted July 7, 2007 I don't know if rival.com has ever been in Florida but they have the gator, noles, & cains that put any rivalry to shame, they are not allowed near each other except during game time. Quote

You obviously never been to Alabama! ;D I heard all kinds of brutal stories. I know one guy at a Alabama football game in birminham during the bear bryant era. This story was on rival.com by the way. He claim he was cheering loudly when an auburn defense player sacked the Alabama QB, then a lady in front of him turned around and punched him. He didnt do nothing, not because she was 60 year old, but fact he understood why she got mad. Â Best thing in auburn is a road sign saying "Tuscaloosa 187 miles." There are two kinds of people in Alabama those that cheers for bama and those that cheers for auburn. Â Quote

Hookem Matt i said MIKE PRICE cause they fired him they didnt fire bear bryant he retired they fired price 4 a stupid reason an he was probably there best coach they would had of had 4 the money now they bring saban in who has NEVER BEAT TENNESSEE OR auburn an is the hardest person in the world to get along with so i dont give him much of a chance at bama....... but yea i know who bear bryant is i live in  alabama with a bunch of hardcore bama fans LOL Quote

Super User Root beer Posted July 9, 2007 Super User Posted July 9, 2007 Catt, seriously. I hate TN so much even I was mad when they manage to come back and beat LSU in the bayou. How in world do you blow that game? You had the game since the 2nd quarter and manage to throw it away. Good lord. I was highly dissapointed in that game. I thought LSU was going go on for a bad season, then Alabama went underfeated and was defeated by LSU. > > I was madder then a nest full of hornet. Quote
Super User Catt Posted July 10, 2007 Super User Posted July 10, 2007 I was in Baton Rouge that night hiding from hurricane Rita, our hotel was so close to the stadium we could hear the announcers on the PA system and the roar of the crowd. It was one of those games that you are just not meant to win. I'm just hoping all the early predictions come true and LSU finally gets to face USC in the BCS Championship but when you're in the SEC you are almost sure to lose at least 1 game. Quote

Super User Matt Fly Posted July 11, 2007 Super User Posted July 11, 2007 Born, Raised, and always will be a Nebraska Cornhusker fan. Since Tom left, Nebraska has lost its idenity.   No more 9 plays offensively, you guys  lined up and ran over teams!!!  One of college footballs best power run offenses for decades. Now the run and shoot, and the Big XII isn't as scared of the BIG RED MACHINE as it once was. When I was younger in the late 60's and early 70's, the OU vs NU game on Thanksgiving day was one of the highlights of the day.    Osborne going against Switzer was always a classic. bassin_man, welcome to Longhorn turf!!!!  LOL and Hookem Matt Quote
Super User Catt Posted July 12, 2007 Super User Posted July 12, 2007 Y'all here the latest about University of Oklahoma  Oklahoma must also vacate the eight victories it gained in the 2005 season and cannot recognize those wins in record books, media guides or in anything else chronicling OU's football history. Super User Matt Fly Posted July 12, 2007 Super User Posted July 12, 2007 Violation of the rules ought to make individuals not draft eligible for few years also. Â Â I don't understand punishing the whole team by taking something from the innocent that happened alomost 3 years ago. Why so long to make decision. Â Â I mean coach found out and kicked them off the team for the whole season and the NCAA just now hands down their decision after a good majority of team is gone!!!!! What happens to the Alumni that is paying the players? Â Â Do they get into any trouble? Â Â Seems that tampering with sports should be crime to offer money to amatuer atheletes. Matt Quote

P.S.  Hopefully the Longhorns aren't so lucky with recovering a fumble with the clock winding down that led to the game winnerlike they were last season.  All he had to do was protect and hang onto the ball and the game was over.  O well thats why they  play the game.  Quote
