The Story...

Today I set the kids down for lunch and asked each what they wanted, we were gonna have sandwiches. ;)

My oldest boy said, ham and cheese with mayo....no problem, made the sandwich and he devoured it.

My youngest, my baby girl, said, PB&J with MAYO, :-[ yes that's right, she wanted mayo on her PB&J sandwich. At first I was not gonna make her the sandwich, she's not gonna get that, mayo on a PB&J.

I move on to my youngest boy, he said, grilled ham, bologna, and cheese, no problem, made the sandwich and he devoured it.

Come back to my baby girl and asked, What do you want to eat? again she said PB&J with mayo, so I cut a small square out of two slices of bread and put mayo on them along with PB&J.

Gave her the small square sandwich and she ate it, so I ask, Do you still want the PB&J with mayo, Yes! she says.

So I make her the PB&J with mayo and she eats the whole sandwich, there was nothing left when she was finished. :o :o

So, this got me thinking, what are some other sandwich combos that you all like that are, lets say strange?

Ya gotta love kids,

My Grandmmother use to like PB&J and mayo.  She tried to get me to eat them, but never developed a taste for them.

Guess my weird sandwich, which I still have on occassion, is putting a slice of cheese of a piece of bread, cover it with potato chips, top with a little ketchup then crush them in the sandwich.  What can I say......

Mine would be peanut butter and lettuce. My dad used to eat fried deer bologna and peanut butter sandwich for breakfast.

When I was a young'n I loved mayo sandwiches with the following opitional toppings: Ketchup, mustard, peanut butter, butter, cheese and applesauce. I even made up a tune:

"Mayo and applesauce sandwiches,

Are a real great treat.

They look like throw-up,

But they're great to eat!"

When I lived in England back it the 70's the Brits loved to eat cucumber and butter sandwiches.  I still can't figure out why.

I'll fix up a bologna sandwich with mustard, and then I'll take regular chips and crush them up and put them on the sandwich.

Bread lightly buttered with sliced fresh (non-cooked) Hungarian Wax hot peppers a real eye opener and tastes great too.
