Guest avid Posted July 1, 2007 Posted July 1, 2007 I know NOTHING about NASCAR but my son's future in-laws are fanatics. Apparantly they LOVE this Gordon guy. To quote Cindy "the more they hate him, the more I love him" so I guess I'll be learning about the reason why people get excited about watching cars drive in a big circle. the wedding is in Michigan, but that's because they live in a county in Indiana that is premdominatly Amish, so therefore dry. I'll be out there from 19th of july to 22nd. I forget the name of the town right now, but I know it's about a half hour or less from Notre Dame. Maybe I'll get to meet ya' avid. Quote
Super User Catt Posted July 1, 2007 Super User Posted July 1, 2007 Aint but one Richard Fast Petty Of today's drivers Mark Martin ;D Matt Kenseth, Carl Edwards, & Roush Racing Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted July 1, 2007 Super User Posted July 1, 2007 #29 However, the best driver is #24, like him or don't. #8 is driving better, but last year he was nothin' but a wreck waiting to happen. He was a VERY reckless and dangerous driver. Quote
jb_from_texas Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 Bobby Labonte. Class, clean driver. Oh, and he is from Texas! Quote
Super User cart7t Posted July 2, 2007 Super User Posted July 2, 2007 I'll tune in to see how the OW guys are doing, specifically Montoya. I've always enjoyed watching Tony Stewart run since his sprinter days and Robby Gordon is a hoot when they stick a mic in front of him. You never know what's going to come out. ;D Quote
Guest hibachi Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 Favorite of all time: Dale Earnhardt #3 Favorite racing now: Tony Stewart #20 Quote

bbbill Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 Jeff Burton...My dad and I use to go down to South Boston Speedway and watch him race on Saturday nights before he joined the ranks of the BIG GUYS. I'm originally from Martinsville but now am an OKIE. I really miss going to the races. :'( Quote
squid Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 I like the guy who is still active and has won LOTS of Winston/NextTell cups and is leading even with a 100 point deduction against him....that boy can drive.....and always has a nice thing on his arm..... Quote
Super User MALTESE FALCON Posted July 3, 2007 Super User Posted July 3, 2007 Truex has become a very steady driver lately. I find myself cheering for him alot. Maybe it's because I've spent sooo much money at BPS in the last few years, I feel like a part owner. Falcon Quote

Big T Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 Favorite of all time: The Intimidator Dale Earnhardt Favorite New driver: Not sure I lost alot of my interest when Dale Sr. got killed, but I do like Tony Stewart and Kevin Harvick. These guys are the modern day mavericks, when Nascar is not trying to shut them up. I like Dale, Jr as well but I think he gets alot of more attention because of his name. I would like to see how these drivers of today would have faired against Dale, Sr. Richard Petty, Neil Bonnett, Bill Elliott, Cale Yarbourgh and Bobby and Donnie Allison, and do not forget the silver fox David Person. Now those guys were racers. Big T Quote
Super User senile1 Posted July 6, 2007 Super User Posted July 6, 2007 Number 24 faired pretty well against Dale Earnhardt, Sr. It's one of the main reasons why there are a legion of NASCAR fans who dislike him. Three of his four championships came before #3's untimely death. It's unfortunate and unfair for him, because he doesn't generally lose his temper and exhibit bad sportsmanship like some drivers. He just goes out and does his thing. Quote
Fish Man Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 i hate him ever since his comments on tony stewart,if ya havent heard what he said he said that tony was the rosie o'donnel of nascar among other things and constantly bashing him Quote
