Cute,

I think the guy doing the take down missed the class where they advise to make sure that your head doesn't hit the mat first.

If he keeps trying maybe he'll eventually get it.

They actually declared this a "no-contest".  the guy who got slammed clearly tapped, but because the other guy was virtually unconcious, they did not give him the win.  i think if you tap/submit, you lose and the other guy wins, regardless of  his condition, but that's just me.

Can't agree with you on that one.

If your unconscious how can you "tap out"?

Also if your so dumb as to knock yourself out the only thing you should win is the gold medal for dummy

If I remember right the same thing happened to Matt Hughes when he won the title 3 or 4 years ago.  I cannot remember the guys name but Hughes even said he went to sleep for a minute, but gained consciousness quick enough for the ref not to realize it.

I also agree that no contest was a good call, Maynard could of pulled his head back and not had to "rest" for a minute or so.  ;D

you misunderstand...the guy who was the victim of the slam (slammee) remained conscious and tapped out after  hitting the ground due to a rib injury.  the guy who picked him up and slammed him (slammer) was the one who was technically KO'd.  the reason i think the tap should take precedence in this case is that it was a conscious decision on the slammee's part to quit fighting.  the ref did not know the other guy was out until a minute or so afterwards.

yes, hughes beat carlos newton for the welterweight title in that fight.  to hughes' credit, he did not "act" out of it as blatantly as maynard did in the previous posted fight clip.

I saw that match the other night.  I like Maynard but for him to tell Joe Rogan after the match that he was not out, is a joke.  His eye's were rolling around.  Was still a good match though.
