Super User Root beer Posted July 1, 2007 Super User Posted July 1, 2007 Hopefully you'll forgive me for this rant, but I'm sick of people complaining about gas price. Just shut up or quit driving! Quote
Big T Posted July 1, 2007 Posted July 1, 2007 $2.74 to $2.85 here in the land of high gas tax. I stopped at a gas station last week and they had posted on the pumps NC's gas tax compared to other states around us and at 30 cents a gallon we were almost double SC's gas tax at 16 cents a gallon. And to think they have better roads than we do. Big T Quote
FishingBuds Posted July 1, 2007 Author Posted July 1, 2007 Hopefully you'll forgive me for this rant, but I'm sick of people complaining about gas price. Just shut up or quit driving! Good point but, actually my driven has been cut by 60%, I drive to work and back as well as the wife and go to the store once a week. Thats pretty much it. I've had my boat out a whole 12 times I think, the price has burden us very much. Now another point, its a conversation piece. I hang it up at home on the wall, that way when company comes over they'll see it and hopefully say "Oh' what a nice gas price you have" and me being proud will say "thankyou ;D I just picked it up, its an original marathon" "would you like to see some older ones" :-? Rattlinrogue Posted July 1, 2007 Posted July 1, 2007 It was $2.99 two weeks ago. It's worked its way down to $2.79 now. Quote
bighed Posted July 1, 2007 Posted July 1, 2007 About 2.79 around here. Pumped 180 gallons in the boat at $3.60 (on the water) at the coast last week. Quote
Captain Cali Posted July 1, 2007 Posted July 1, 2007 $3.09 for 87 octane. It is what it is. Does it mean I'm old when I can say, "I remember when a gallon was 99 cents!" Quote
mattm Posted July 1, 2007 Posted July 1, 2007 Around 2.85 here. If anybody within a hour of the DFW area needs someone to split costs w/ so they can go out more i'm your man. Quote

You obviously dont have a job or friends Obviously I do have a job, otherwise I wouldn't afford the gas. Seriously everything is rising, milk price, gas price, tax, all kinds of BS so just shut up. Either shut up or do something about it. It getting on my nerves. Yes I hate gas price being high, but there nothing you can do about it. We had a hurricane destory or shutdown most of our refinery in gulf mexico, thus we rely on gas from middle east, then india, china (dont ask why), they all want oil. That shooting prices up. Just shut up. I think mods should start deleting and locking threads that has to do with gas price. Quote

Taliesin Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 I was out Friday and saw gas at $2.84. I filled up at $2.29, but that's E85 (105 octane). Quote
frogtog Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 Here in NC I paid 2.77 this weekend. Fished the ABA tournament and use all of the 48 gals in my boat. Won the tournament $825 for first place. So I take the 132.96 I paid for gas from my winnings wich leaves me $692.04 less entry fee - $80.00 witch leaves me with $612.04 Less 25% expences and now I have $459.03. I then keepup with the non highway gas I use so the state will pay me back .23 cents per gallon. Refund on non highway gas = $11.04 + $459.03 this leaves me with +/- $470.07 Hmmm pretty good weekend. How many of you know that you can get back tax money on gas you don't use on the highway? This incudes boats, lawn mowers etc. any thing you can't use on the highways. Oh yea before you start in on me, the above figures could be off a few cents high or low. ;D Quote
