Super User Catt Posted June 27, 2007 Super User Posted June 27, 2007 How Y'all Are? Y'all aint flooded out? Sound off so we'll know y'all are safe? Quote
bighed Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 I live in Mckinney, we're doing good. No houses flooded but the creeks are over their banks. We get our drinking water from Lake Lavon and the level has gone from about 15 feet low to several feet over full in the last two months. It's not a small city lake, it's just under 30k acres. We've been in a stage three drought restriction since last year. Tomorrow they are opening the flood gates on Texoma. About 40 miles north of here. I hear it's only about 5 feet under the emergency spillway. It's only hit the spillway twice since it was built in the 40's. This is a 90k acre lake. It's raining right now and the forcast is calling for plenty more. On a bright note, Chad and I hit Fork last week on a dry day and the the lake was full but the water was not too muddy. We were only there for 6 hours and we got two 21's, two 18's, and a 16 on spot removers and one on a spinner bait in around 10 feet of water. How you doing down there Catt? Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted June 28, 2007 Super User Posted June 28, 2007 Here in Tulsa, we have had a record fifteen straight days of measurable rainfall. All of our reservoirs, both large and small, are well above full pool, some as much as ten feet. One of our nearby lakes, Skiatook, was 15' below normal six weeks ago. It's only source of inflow is from runoff. It is now three feet above normal. That's a lot of new water for a 25,000 acre lake. There is about a 200 mile wide corridor that runs from South Texas to Northeast Kansas that has been under a flash-flood watch for the last two weeks. We got 2.5 inches of rain last night and it has been raining off and on all day. Probability of rain tomorrow? 90% To tell you the truth, I'm pretty much sick of it, but I'll eat my words come August and 100 plus temperatures. Quote
Super User flechero Posted June 28, 2007 Super User Posted June 28, 2007 We lucked out in Belton, all the heavy rain was just a little south of us. Lucky being 14" of rain in the last week... which is lucky compared to those just south. Quote
Fisher of Men Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 Hey Flech, We just motored through you're home town on Wednesday and Monday on our way down to Padre for Student Life church camp. Sorry I didn't bother to stop and say "hello", but we were in a caravan of four 15 passenger vans. We almost thought we might be delayed in that highway 287 into Decatur was shut down for awhile due to high water. We happened to be delayed enough that the waters had receded by the time we got there. We got about 7 inches of rain here over the last 48 hours. Lake Bridgeport is finally full (or .1 foot low according to the news). I'm sure after some runoff, it will be full in the next two days. My little 12 acre pond/lake has been more full than I've ever seen it, although I can't get to it for the mud. I am very thankful for all the rain and will not fuss about it. I know that this time last year, we were praying really hard for it. I do however feel bad for all those who are flooded out and wish to continue praying for them. -Fisher <>< Quote
Red Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 we are ok here in waco...the brazos and bosque are flooded and have been for weeks now...and lake waco has been shut down as well...from my understanding the lake is completely closed...no swimming, no boat launching, nothing...the gates are closed...last week they said on the morning news they were ging to drain out the lake due to loss of money cuz the parks were closed..but guess what happened that day...it rained! so needless to say...lakes and rivers are flooded but everything else is fine...i think the worst of it was north and south of where i am...hope everyone else makes out ok Cliff Quote
Super User flechero Posted June 28, 2007 Super User Posted June 28, 2007 Fisher, If you make another trip south let me know! Quote

mattm Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 Were fine here in Weatherford. Haven't even had much rain today. Parts of my hometown of Brock/Dennis just down the road have had to be evacuated though b/c Possum Kingdom lake opened 3 flood gates with the possibility of a 4th to come so the brazos is way out of its banks. Super User Long Mike Posted June 28, 2007 Super User Posted June 28, 2007 Tulsa got another two inches of rain today. Tomorrow's forecast: 90% probability of rain. Quote
Captain Underpants Posted June 29, 2007 Posted June 29, 2007 Its been raining for at last half of the day for 17 days straight in my part of Oklahoma. Y'all probably won't believe this, but my pond has gone up 12 ft I ain't kidding, I went to it during a really heavy downpour, and the water was over the dock rails! Before the rains, the dock, and the poles holding it up, were well above water. I need a bigger dock! Quote
msmonroe Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 This last Saturday all of my usual haunts were flooded. All of the ramps at Lake Lewisville and Ray Bob were under water. So, I was forced to drive out to Lake Fork. Total bummer It was actually a beautiful day and we didn't get a drop of rain. Life is rough. - Matt Quote
Hookem Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 All of the area lakes are closed except for Bastrop, Fayette and Buch. None will be open until the 10th. That is if we don't get the 6-8 inch rains expected today and tomorrow! : But some of the releases at the areas dams are pretty impressive! FYI....Two months ago....... Travis was at 646. This morning, its 700 and still rising. Conservation pool level is 681. The all-time record level is 711 in 1991. Spillway is at 714. They are releasing over 20,000cfs out of 4 of 24 gates on Mansfield Dam. Georgetown was at 771. This morning, its 821 and still rising. Conservation pool level is 791. They are not releasing any water as this lake eventually heads to the Brazos which is flooding. Quote
