When I was little I was into pro wrestling, and I found out today that one of my old favorites, Chris Benoit was found dead here in Atlanta. They are thinking murder/suicide, which is a big suprise. Anyone else watch or used to watch pro wrestling?

They had a three hour tribute last night on Raw for him. They said it appears he killed his wife and son over the weekend and then himself on Monday.

Not releasing any details about the death and "bizarre circumstances" are things I read this morning. I am interested in what happened in that house....

Yeah it is certainly an upset, he was always my fav. wrestler.

A couple of weeks ago another "Superstar" died. The chairman of wrestling. Mr. Vincent Kennedy McMahon. His limo exploded, which if you watch the video it is an apparent suicide, because before he gets in the limo he hesitates like he knows what is going to happen, and before that he looks at the guys sitting outside watching him go to his limo seems to me like making sure they are paying attention.

I don't know what happened to Chris though. I would really doubt he would kill his son and wife. Either this is a murder or bizarre incident.  :'(

You know the McMahon thing was fake and this is real, right?    :-?

there have been debates about this, etc. Quite frankly I just don't know and I really don't care lol!  ;D

The entire world of 'professional wrestling' is fake. I'd perfer UFC. I just heard about these tragedies.

No, seriously...real life here. No "made for TV" type drama.

Vince McMahon pulled the old "switcheroo" and is off somewhere sipping a Mai Tai. His "death" was setup as a television stunt, in front of cameras for the benefit of the RAW television show.

Benoit actually killed his family over the weekend and then himself on Monday, in their home, by undisclosed means.

Big difference there, partna.

i dont care for wrestling but i heard on the radio he smuthered his son in his room with the pillow and strangled his wife

It is horrible what happened to his family and self. The wrestling world will miss him regardless of whatever may have happened. The thing with Vince was just an act as he admitted last night at the beginning of RAW. As far as another loss to the wrestling community Sensational Sherri died within the last 2 weeks.

I wouldn't doubt that the Chris Benoit incident was real. I was just saying that there's been debates over Mr. McMahon's "death". Which really I don't care about McMahon because almost everyone in the industry hated him anyway. But a lot of people had respect for Benoit.

it stinks none-the-less that Benoit is dead. I enjoyed watching him wrestle, I was saying the entire wrestling stunts are fake (matches, etc.) I know things like this are real.

God bless Chris Benoit and Family!  8-)

To kill your own child is heartless. I believe steroids may have played a part in this due to the fact that they really mess you up psychologically...and Im sure he had other issues as well. A tragedy nonetheless. I grew up a huge wrestling fan back when it was just good vs bad...not the garbage thats on it today. Bob Backlund, Hulk Hogan, Junkyard Dog, Andre the Giant, Iron Sheik, Ivan Putski, Ken Patera, Rowdy Roddy, Superfly Snuka, Paul Orndorf, just a few of my idols growin up. Yeah, Im 35  and it shows :)

P.S. Wrestling was always fake, obviously the moves are real but the good vs bad and the final outcome were ALWAYS set up. Although my wife doesnt believe this, most of the blood actually is real...those nuts cut themselves on purpose with razor blades and by other means. Best wrestler of all time imo...Hulk Hogan!!

Those names bring back some memories.....I saw Andre the Giant, Hulk Hogan and George "The Animal" Steele in Altoona, PA when I was only a small child. They used to perform at a small arena called the Jaffa Mosque. Some good memories there...

My mom met Ric Flair when she was younger, got his autograph, etc.

The strikes aren't real, they hold back the punches and kicks. The suplexes etc are real though, there's no way to fake a fall. The ring itself looks fake too, if you notice it bounces much like a trampoline. I'd say the thing is on springs!!  ;D

I gotta think steriods played into the equation.     I have seen too many friends on roids with temper problems.

I have no respect for anything he may have accomplished in his life with his recent actions.      If I had known what had happened when the Raw aired Monday, I wouldn't have stopped to check it out.

Didn't get the facts until last nights ESPN sportscenter.

He's was a very sick individual as his actions attested to that.

When you surround yourself with heartless management, steroids, fame(for what I don't know it's all fake),violence and glorification of violence WHAT DO YOU THINK THE OUTCOME IS GONNA BE!

Sooner or later something was gonna happen, and the mangement will wash their hands, just like Ceaser did >:(

Chris Benoit was a coward who strangled his wife and smothered his son. i have zero respect for him and if it's true that they had a "Tribute" to him, then i don't have respect for the WWE anymore either. There is NO excuse for killing a child and i cannot fathom, condone, excuse or respect the actions of this monster. yes, i am ticked.

She shook his hand, gave him a hug, talked a bit...

It said in our newspaper today that Chris was indosed on 'roids. He bound his wife up and strangled her and then smothered his kid and then hung himself on the pulleys of his weight machine.

I know alot of people are mad that WWE played the tribute to him and rightfully so but they have released statements basically saying they were wrong. They have pulled all tributes to him from the web and tv. They have stated that steroids were most likely not involved and that he was recently tested and the results were negative. If you go to their website you can get alot of info about what is going on including the genetic disorder his son had which they feel may have contributed to Chris state of mind.
