Super User Jimzee Posted June 27, 2007 Super User Posted June 27, 2007 We are having a severe lack of rain in the Mountain State (WV) right now. Today, on the job, I walked across a river in my work boots and did not even get the top of my boots wet. This same river is normally about six to seven foot in depth at this location. Anyone else with this problem this year? Come on Rain!!! :-/ Quote
Super User burleytog Posted June 27, 2007 Super User Posted June 27, 2007 Mowed my yard twice in the last two months. Just leaves more time for fishing. Quote
Taliesin Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 Meanwhile Missouri farmers had a hard time getting their crops planted because we had no dry days. Now they are hoping for more rain for other reasons. Looks like we are getting it this week though. Quote
John J. Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 We haven't had rain here in Orange County, Va for a week. All my plants in the garden are wilting, I watered them last night, looks like I need to do it again tonight... Come on RAIN!!! 8-) PS: It makes no sense, we've had tons of thunderstorms all around us but none dropped any rain!! Quote
ring fry Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 I've had 14 + inches this month. > There are parts of two fairways that I haven't mowed since mid May!! Geuss what, it's raining right now. Quote
Super User Raul Posted June 27, 2007 Super User Posted June 27, 2007 Drought ? where ? it 's been two weeks in a row that 's been raining cats and dogs, have to mow the lawn twice a week or it becomes a jungle in an eyeblink. Quote
Super User Root beer Posted June 27, 2007 Super User Posted June 27, 2007 Effecting my fishing big time. > Quote
skillet Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 Pretty dry here in west TN. Not cutting the grass so often and going fishing would be a good idea if all the ponds and small lakes weren't falling faster than you can cast ... As Ever, skillet Quote
Guest ncbass24 Posted June 29, 2007 Posted June 29, 2007 It has been bone dry here in central NC for the past few months. Finally we are starting to get the afternoon thunderstorms though, and that has helped in the past few days. I went to a local river about a week ago which is normally 4-5 ft. in most places, but now its down to less than 1 foot. Quote
Guest avid Posted June 29, 2007 Posted June 29, 2007 2007 saw Florida experience it's worst drought ever recorded. But the rains have started. My home lake is up about a foot and a half from it's low point during the worst of the drought. Still need a bunch more rain to get back to normal, but things are looking up. Quote

Wait until the hurricane season starts Avid, you 'll have plenty of water when that begins. Quote
