Do birds move out of there nest?

There is a bird nest in my Kayak. I have seen the bird that lives in it when I stuck my head in the kayak to take a few pictures of the nest (It is a huge nest the finch made) I was wondering when will the bird make a other one because I want my kayak back  > And no I will not destroy the nest.

I don't know what kind of bird, but a house finch, for example,  and her brood might leave the nest from 10-18 days after hatching.
