Gotta Love It Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 Yeah... I guess I fit in this category! Took my lawn tractor to the repair shop after trying to fix it myself. Guess they will charge me with the "stupidity" tax! Worst part is they didn't want the bag of parts and pieces I collected... : Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted June 3, 2007 Posted June 3, 2007 I just keep saving all the extra parts Pflueger puts in the reels because when I get enough of them I am just going to build an extra reel WHO SAYS THIS MOOK AIN"T MECHANICALLY INCLINED Quote
Super User MALTESE FALCON Posted June 3, 2007 Super User Posted June 3, 2007 I did that once with an outboard motor. The mechanic wasn't pleased. As Gotta love It said, I'm pretty sure I was charged with a "stupidity tax". Falcon Quote

Super User Hookemdown. Posted June 4, 2007 Super User Posted June 4, 2007 From the looks of the picture, I think that reel is actually a Shimano : Quote
Super User Raul Posted June 4, 2007 Author Super User Posted June 4, 2007 Outboard problem: goes off when you reduce throttle Raul tries to fix problem starting by dissasembling gas pump ........ Problem not fixed Raul takes outboard to the mech Mech checks outboard, problem not in gas pump, problem: itsy bitsy hose that goes into carburator cracked allowing air to enter. Mech fixes itsy bitsy hose = 2 dollars Mech replaces gas pump Raul tried to fix Stupidity tax = 300 dollars ! Quote

Super User Raul Posted June 4, 2007 Author Super User Posted June 4, 2007 Nope Matt, we don 't have Academy in Mexico, I go to MacAllen every 6 months to pick up stuff I ordered on-line and to shop ( mostly clothes for my kids & nephews ). Quote
Gotta Love It Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 Update on my tractor starter issue: $204 to fix the starter ($125 for the starter and the rest was for labor). I was right on the starter issue but I still couldn't fix it myself and I did take them a bag of parts... LOL Oh well, guess they felt really sorry for me and didn't charge me the stupidity tax!
