RecMar8541 Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 Anyone had these tasty treats? Heres how I make em. take a pickle spear, I use kosher dills myself, roll them in a breading, I use a premade chicken breading from the store, then dip em in milk, then a second toss into the breading. Drop them in the deep fryer for 3 minutes at 375 degrees. Dip em in ranch dressing....they are awesome, and go great with a meal of speck fillets!!! Recon Quote
frogtog Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 Yea they are good. Best invention since the light bulb. Quote
justfishin Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 My pickle got fried in divorce court once, . Seriously, I will try that, it sounds pretty good. I saw not long ago where at some carnivals and such they sold fried Snickers bars in which were breaded. They say they are addicting. Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted May 29, 2007 Super User Posted May 29, 2007 One of my personal specialties is the..... DEEP FRIED OREO!!!!!!! The pickles are very good too. Candy bars are tough to make, secret is to freeze them first. Twinkies are ok, they soak up a lot of oil though. BTW, I will deep fry anything. LOL Quote

Super User Long Mike Posted May 29, 2007 Super User Posted May 29, 2007 I tried frying water once, but I think I over-cooked it, because it disappeared. Quote
skillet Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 I really like fried pickles myself! Was at the mid-south Fair not too long ago and saw a stand where they were selling the fried Twinkies. Have you ever read the ingredients on Twinkies? Knowing I'm fixin' to eat it, I would rather read the side of a Potted Meat can and then eat it (gimme some saltines of course ;D). Twinkies have a shelf life approaching the infinite ! When "they" decide to drop the BIG bomb, after it's all over, the cockroaches that are left will have something to eat......Twinkies Quote
Rattlinrogue Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 been eating those things since i was a kid.they are good. Quote
Gotta Love It Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Quote "Ain't nothin' cant' be fried." Hey RW... guess you have been to the state fair! Everything is fair game for the deep fryer! Hey Recon... are those the specs we were gonna eat at the Florida get together? :'( Hope everything is good with you and your family! Quote
hootersdoug Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 We have them on the menu at Hooters, but we use slices with a horseradish dipping sauce. They are selling pretty well!!! Quote
C.K Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 Works better if you use pickle chips instead of spears. I use flour with some seasoning salt and pepper for the breading. These things are a nice snack! ;D Quote
JayW Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 I've fried Cucumbers, but never Pickles. I guess that's similar, but without the vinegar! Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted June 3, 2007 Super User Posted June 3, 2007 Maybe it's just me, but that doesnt sound appetizing at all. I suppose I will have to try it. Quote
JayW Posted June 3, 2007 Posted June 3, 2007 I wonder if they taste anything like salt and vinegar potato chips? :-? Quote
C.K Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 Nothing like 'em. It's hard to describe, but they don't have a strong pickle taste. Once you try them you might be hooked, so be careful. Quote
